I prefer to not send a name with my emails but only the email address itself. This is possible with Thunderbird Android by editing Account settings -> Sending mail -> Composition defaults and removing "Your name", which was set during the initial setup. Presently established that export of FF bookmarks on desktop does not include mobile. Suggested work arounds include copy/paste of rhs content to other top categories. The new profiles are really great because they make it easy to manage multiple accounts on social media platforms and to separate all the passwords between private and work-related ones. However, the default settings like search engine, tools, etc., are unlikely to change much, as they are a matter of personal preference that will probably apply to all profiles. When I browse reddit, no matter the sub I'm on, firefox translate always thinks the source is in french because it's the language of my UI. about:preferences#containers My simple request is to make this list reorderable with drag-and-drop. For example, if I have 10 container tabs, and I add a new one, it goes to the bottom of the list. I would like to be able to drag them around to sort them so I don't have to delete them to change the list. I think there should be a lot of work done to have the profiles working, like for instance making them native and customizable like in Chrome. I think a lot of us are switching over to FF because of Chrome's latest version that doesn't allow adblockers, but there is so much more that Chrome does better which is making this a difficult transition. I created separate profiles, one for work and one personal, and they both have Ublock Origin, however the filters I create don't sync automatically. In Mozilla Firefox, passwords stored in the logins.json and key4.db files are encrypted using the Triple DES (3DES) algorithm in CBC (Cipher Block Chaining) mode. When the window is maximized, you can select tabs with the mouse against the top edge of the screen. However this doesn't work for tab groups, and you need to move the mouse down into the box that contains the tab group name to select it.  It would be nice for the tab group to also be selectable this way to make usage more fluid and consistent. ... Firefox for Android doesn't have bookmark tags features. I'm afraid I'm in the minority here, but I hate when programs get too "helpful."  Select text on a web page, right click on the selection, the top of the context menu is "copy," UNLESS the text is a URL, at which point the top of the context menu becomes "Open Link." Therefore, instead of copying the text so that I can paste it into an email/trouble ticket/text chat, I open a new webpage and have to backtrack. I feel like it's not too hard to put that text into an address bar, so I don't see the benefit of "Open Link," but if it has to be there, could it not replace "copy" so my muscle memory doesn't sabotage me?  ... Summary Increase Thunderbird's versatility as a messaging client by 5-10x by adopting the existing FOSS cross-platform messaging-app connector libpurple    Why? Thunderbird is more than an email/calendar/address book client. It also does chat over XMPP and Matrix (plus some proprietary systems.) It can't talk to the ones I mainly need, though: Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp, Slack, Telegram, Discord. One FOSS tool can do this: Pidgin. https://pidgin.im/ Pidgin talks to all these services over Libpurple. https://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/WhatIsLibpurple This is FOSS, and it already runs on Linux, macOS, Windows, and the BSDs. There is a precedent -- there was a Mozilla based libpurple client once, called Instantbird: http://instantbird.com/ Pidgin 3 is in development now, but it has been for a long time (10Y+). It brings a new Libpurple version so for now this is a slow-moving target that is in maintenance mode. It would be much more memory-efficient than having web browser tabs open for all these services.
