Please either add Perplexity AI as one of the search engine options, or as an official browser extension.  Chrome already has the latter.

Thank you.

Yes, please add add Perplexity AI as an official browser extension.

Yes, this for Firefox Android please, as there already is a good way to use it on Firefox for Windows (via OpenSearch, right clicking on the url bar when on perplexity.ai and then clicking "add as default search engine". More about it here <https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/OpenSearch> <https://www.perplexity.ai/opensearch.xml> )

Yes, you definitely need Perplexity to be accessible from the Firefox browser with an official add-on, especially for Linux desktop users.

Looking forward to it when it officially arrives. Meanwhile, based on the OpenSearch format from @Dan's response I added this in my .zshrc:

perp() {
    search=""
    echo "Perplexity lookup for: $@"
    for term in $@; do
        search="$search%20$term"
    done
    xdg-open "https://www.perplexity.ai/search?s=o&q=$search" &
}

So, from the terminal, I can just run perp <searchQuerry>, and it opens up perplexity with the search query lookup. This works on Linux, with the default browser as Firefox.
