Status: New idea

I have an image as my Firefox theme, and I would like for vertical tabs to be transparent on top of the image, just like horizontal tabs. It would be nice to have an option other than solid colour for the vertical-tabs sidebar.

Yeah the vertical tabs/sidebar sticks out (in a bad way) due to not fully embracing the theme/background image. Even the "Find" bar down the bottom looks strange and doesn't match the top part of the window theme.

I was thinking the same. I've been using Tree Style Tab as an Extension for years and am very happy with it as it makes the tabs look exactly as I want them. I was then happy when I heard Firefox has introduced native vertical tabs as an option, so I went to try it, open to switching to using that instead. However I would say it still doesn't look and function as well as Tree Style Tab. The fact that the theme doesn't extend to the Sidebar at all bugs me. The bright solid colour sticks out and looks out of place. Also the size of tabs is a bit too chunky compared to what I'm used to and I really do miss the possibility to stack them under each other like a branches on a tree. If Firefox implemented those changes, I would uninstall the extension and use the native in-built Vertical Tabs option instead.

I should mention one feature I do like however, that Tree Style Tab doesn't have, is the ability to group tabs together and close the group without losing the tabs inside it. The group is then still available in the tab list drop-down menu, whenever you want to go back to it.

I hope this feedback is taken into consideration.
