It would be great, if Thunderbird could remember the quick filter setting on a per folder basis. In macOS Mail I can set certain folders to only show "unread" messages (e.g. mailing lists, or daily maintenance emails, etc.) and in others I might only be interested in another subgroup of emails. Making the quick filter sticky is not what I need there, as different folders need different treatment. Currently if you look in Windows 10's Task Manager you'll see a bunch of "Firefox" named processes.  My suggestion is to add a distinct ending string to describe what each process is for/doing. Often it seems a process is doing lots of work for a particular URL/tab.  I'd like to be able to see which tab or add-on is doing work outside the Firefox Task Manager.  It is a fine new feature, but it can be useful to have multiple ways to find information (and verify it). Ideas for names include... group shared work into a category (video playback, encryption, etc) use the whole URL for the process name, since it's held in a tree structure under Firefox and has an icon to match.  On Linux they'd see the parent PID. or more complex... if domains are unique for tabs, that's an obvious label if many tabs share the same domain then folder/file endings might differ or the "title" the web page itself sets could differ If they change often this might add a good deal of extra work, so I understand if it's a feature that's disabled while on battery.  But for debugging or profiling it might be a handy way to estimate for regular home users. ... Please consider adding support for both custom and standard macOS Keyboard Shortcuts. For reference, "Keyboard Shortcuts" or "App Shortcuts" is a system preference on macOS that allows you to add your own window shortcuts like moving an active window such as Firefox to the left or right of the screen. It is not a static list and may change at anytime. Different apps may have different shortcuts. At the moment, Firefox seems to be the only mainstream browser that doesn't support this. The only shortcuts in Firefox for Mac is currently hardcoded to "Minimize" and "Zoom" it seems like, which makes it impossible to setup simple keybindings for e.g moving the current active Firefox window to the left or right of your monitor. ... the ability to set Firefox Private browser (private_browsing.exe) as a default browser/pdf viewer in Windows. In my use case, I would like to open links from external apps, .pdf & .html files with Firefox Private browser. Reasons: It opens much faster specially if you have several tabs open. and Firefox is not already running. maybe it is a little bit more private. Firefox currently acts as a search provider, allowing web search and tab/history search from gnome itself, but there are a few issues with the implementation. While I am not a developer, I think the proposed solutions should be implementable given GNOME web's similar search provider or at least included as options in about:config. Its availability depends on package format and distribution. I think there were some reddit threads, but I cannot find them after the Reddit API protests. It works on Fedora 38 with the RPM, and there is some convoluted configging to make it work with the Fedora Flatpak. It only works when Firefox is open. By contrast, GNOME Web/Epiphany has a near-identical implementation but still works when Epiphany is closed (not running in the background). Link opening is inconsistent. Web searches launch in a new window after a moment of delay, whereas history results open in a new tab in the last active window. My personal preference is for both to open in a new tab in the last active window and only open in a new window if Firefox was closed. Again, this should be doable as GNOME web and Firefox both have the functionality to open a new tab in the last active window. It would be very very handy to have a simple search bar at the top of the extension dropdown menu, because over time people add a lof of different extensions to their firefox and it becomes very very very tedious to always manually search for the one that I need right now. So just a simple searchbar at the top that filters extension in the dropdown menu by name would be awesome to have, so that I can quickly find and access its specific extension window. Also make it so that the search bar is instantly focused when the extension menu pops up, so that the user can immediately start typing and the filtering begins. Then the user can just press enter to launch the extension window of the first element in the list. This would allow for a easy mouse-free keyboard-only navigation. And before somebody asks: I do not want pin every extension to the toolbar just to quickly access it, it would like to hide away most of them in the dropdown menu instead, so this is not a viable option. ... Idea: Have a dedicated platform status page for Firefox, similar to https://chromestatus.com/  or https://webkit.org/status/ Reasoning: The Chrome Platform Status website is a useful tool for finding what web standards are supported or going to be added in Chromium/Chrome and also lists the upcoming releases and what additions or removals will be in said release. At the moment Thunderbird does not use native vCard 4.0 elements to define address lists, and so they can not be synced via CardDAV and do not export correctly to a file that can be interpreted as a list by other clients. I'd love a progress bar on desktop Firefox. The current spinny/bouncy loading indicator can only indicate that something's happening, and not how long there is to go etc. Firefox for Android has one: Safari on desktop had/has one:   I like the Safari idea above, it combines the address bar and progress bar so you don't sacrifice any space. It also make smart use of something that you want/need to see at all times (the address bar), unlike the Find bar or the status bar which you want out of the way when not in use. In some apps and browsers, there’s an option to enable overlay scrollbar (or is enabled by default). By saying overlay scrollbar, I mean a transparent scrollbar which hides when the mouse no longer covers it. It doesn’t move or change website content in any way like default one does in Firefox or Thunderbird. It would be great if the ability to annotate websites.  This annotate feature should be toggleable and allow users to draw, highlight, erase what they've drawn on the website and save what they've drawn to a PDF or image. This function would be useful for a verity of reason/people.  For example: this would allow (online) teachers to more easily work through examples on a website, or draw an example on a website for their students.  It would also be useful for students working out some problems on a website, as well as general users who want to make notes as they scroll or work something out on a website. I know that you could simply take a screenshot of the website or save as a PDF and then edit the image/PDF, but that's not as convenient and with the image option it would be more difficult if you wanted to be able to scroll up and down the website while keeping your  annotations in place. ...
