Thunderbird # already has a great support for VTODO VCALENDAR and contacts. What is missing though is support for VJOURNAL entries. Journals are close to calendar entries. A great vesoverview gives jtx Additionally they introduce "notes" which are simply journals without a date.
The open source calDAV and cardDAV is a great way to share information between groups and family. Journals and notes would complete this sharing nicely.

Hey
Please give us a option disable opening pdf in mozilla thunderbird directly or option to choose which program will open them.
Implemented reader is slow. There is often problem with opening pdf files - last very long to open files and if there is more pages program open them very slow - way slower than standard program. Your implemented reader need some time to be improved. For now its just pain to use, especialy if i have a lot of work and need to work quickly.
Thanks

I recently imported my bookmarks from a previous Firefox install, and the icons were all a grey globe icon. When I clicked on them and used the bookmark link for a while, the icon generally changes to something linked to the webpage (such as an Excel icon, or Sharepoint icon). It would be better if the icons populate themselves without me having to individually click on them all.

I think many people including me want to have the Japanese translation option for websites. I need to use now google translate for translating Japanese websites. And I don't like it to use every time google translate for that.

The Library is a neglected part of Firefox that very clearly combines decades-old technology with new design specs and icons. Unfortunately, it therefore looks like a frankensteined-together part of Firefox that could really, really use a facelift because it catches you by surprise with its window-based nature when you try to manage your history or bookmarks. This vital piece of Firefox should be rewritten to be part of a tab, like every other part of Firefox. Modernize it! 🙂

Hi, recently I just start to use Firefox...again. So, I notice Firefox already have the feature where user can register and login to sync their browser settings, but not all apparently. Please sync all settings once the user login to Firefox browser, like bookmarks, saved passwords, browsing history, browser appearances (light theme, dark theme, customized toolbar), so that when I use Firefox in another PC/laptop, I just need to login to my Firefox browser, and it will be appeared 100% exactly like the previous Firefox in my previous PC/laptop. Chrome does this, and I hope Firefox will too.

On some Computer My Thunderbird Profile is still the same as from the first version of Thunderbird from 2006. It contains a lot of strange files and is much larger than a new profile. Please develop a full migration of the Thunderbird profile into a new profile. Beside my I'm also Family admin of several PC with Thunderbird. Most of their Profile has the same age like my profile. It would be nice If I could migrate these profile as easy as possible. I do not wish to set up new mail clients and may forget settings or add-ons. I suggest following behavior. User do start a Profile migration Thunderbird requests some basics [x] Automatic cleanup - nothing get lost you currently use. [ ] Custom cleanup - remove some data you currently use but you do not need anymore. -> Add some requests If custom cleanup is active: list of add-ons, experimental settings, remove password list, etc. Create a new Profile Install all currently active add-ons Migrate all settings of Thunderbird Migrate all settings Thunderbird in the current Version is able to use Migrate accounts and also their mail filter rules Settings of migrated add-ons. Cleanup cached Mails Perform a Thunderbird start Migrate cached Mails -> May check ahead of the Migration if enough disk space is available Migrate requested Passwords. -> May ask for removing Password from the old profile If the whole migration was successful If every thing is successful and the next Thunderbird start was also successfully too, tar.xz the old Profile.

Idea: Add DNS-over-HTTPS support for the Android version of Firefox
Reasoning: Google Chrome for Android already supports this, as does the Windows, MacOS, and GNU/Linux version of Firefox. This can be used to make the mobile browsing experience more private/secure.

For those who use Firefox's Reader Mode, especially Text To Speech, I think it would be a good idea to add some "natural" voices to Reader Mode, and make the distinction between Offline and Online Voices, Offline Voices (system voices) are robotic and sometimes fails to speak words or to pronunciating them well, so, being a browser with 20+ years, Firefox needs to have more innovating features and not going backwards, it would be a good Usability and Accessiblity feature that other browsers like Edge has (the only browser which can be compared with Firefox in terms of features), and Audiobook listeners will be very thankful for this. I appreciate anyone who could find this a good idea, thank you so much.

I've really come to appreciate the container feature, but they're still completely manual.
I'd suggest to add a feature to bookmarks and bookmark handling, so that I can specify in a bookmark, in which container it will open. The idea is to have e.g. one bookmark "Google/Docs/YT (work) to open in my "work" container with my work login, and another one to open in a standard container with a different or no login. Currently, this works just fine, but I have to open the container tab manually each time.
(This could be a more flexible addition to pre-assigning e.g. all *facebook.com domains to one container as @bugboy suggested.)

Swiping between open tabs would be wonderful. Implementation could be exactly how it's done in Safari.
If you're in private mode then swiping would only be between private tabs. Swiping normal tabs would only navigate between normal tabs.
This is not the same as https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/swipe-between-tabs-private-tabs-and-synced-tabs/idc-p/473#M245, which asks for swiping between all open and all private tabs.

For the love of God please revert this feature back to how it was prior to ver 98 release. This auto save nonsense is garbage. I use this browser for work, across a dozen machines, and the main reason I use Firefox was for how it functioned when opening/downloading files. Now that it's auto saving it breaks my processes for my job. I need it to prompt to open or save when I click on files. AUto saving is causing additional steps in my work processes, I am looking at alternative browsers now. Unless you can put this back the way it was I will discontinue usage.

Mozilla is the company we trust when it comes to online privacy, security, and the Open Web. Having a web service like Mastodon Social under the Mozilla umbrella will guarantee more freedom of expression on the Open Web. I personally believe that it should be part of Mozilla's mission to support and protect Federated Open Source Services, that are not controlled by a corporation. In fact, Mozilla already supports one of those federated services. https://chat.mozilla.org Mozilla Chat is based on a Federated Web Service called Matrix.org. My idea is to create a web portal called Social.Mozilla.org where users could sign in with their Mozilla Account and enjoy a Twitter-like social experience powered by Mastodon's code. The source-code of Mastodon is accessible on Github, and there are plenty of guides about how to install it and maintain it. https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon

Currently Thunderbird supports system tray on Windows - just close the software and an icon will be presented on Windows system tray.
Unfortunately this feature is missing on Linux. In past there were several plugins to do that, like several versions of Minimize-to-tray, however the plugin technology for Thunderbird (and Firefox) has changed over time, and these plugins are no longer supported.
Currently if I want to use this feature on Linux I need install an additional software like systray-x or KDocker, which it is weird.
So, please turn this feature native for Linux too!

Not related to Firefox, but more of a new product idea.
I'm not aware of any keyboard app that could be considered as private by design. It seems the market for this is dominated by Microsoft with SwiftKey and Google With GBoard. It would be good if Mozilla made a keyboard app that was private but still had the features of the most popular keyboard apps.

This came through as a question on reddit with 87 net votes, showing a screenshot of Chrome's "Search Tabs" feature (in the tab strip).
People pointed out that you can search tab titles via the address bar using the % restriction token. However, this is a bit of a multi-step process, unlike the same feature in Chrome, which allows people to do a Ctrl-shift-a and begin typing for the tab vs. the Firefox feature, which requires people to do Ctrl-l then type % space and begin typing the tab title.
Ideally, there would be a keyboard shortcut that would focus the address bar with the restriction token already populated.

Dear [Browser Developer Team], As a dedicated user of your browser, I am writing to express my strong support for the addition of a second sidebar. This feature would greatly improve my overall browsing experience and provide me with more flexibility and convenience. Having the ability to open multiple sources of information simultaneously in a second sidebar would allow me to easily compare data, reference material, and switch between tasks with ease. This would save me time and increase my productivity, as I would no longer have to constantly switch between tabs. Furthermore, the addition of a second sidebar would also benefit the add-ons I use on a daily basis. With the ability to utilize the second sidebar, add-ons would be able to provide me with even more tools and resources, such as translation tools, news feeds, and social media widgets, in a convenient and streamlined manner. I believe that the addition of a second sidebar would be a valuable addition to your browser and would greatly enhance the user experience. I urge you to consider implementing this feature in future updates. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Idea Suggestion: Add an option to bypass the Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) links that Google/Bing use and go straight to the original publishers website on the mobile version of Firefox and Firefox Focus.
Reasoning: The Brave web browser already supports this, as does DuckDuckGo, and AMP links can be annoying/unnecessary and could be used for tracking, which can compromise user privacy. As AMP is exclusive on the mobile web, it would be unnecessary to add it on the desktop version.
