Currently, when I'm using Firefox's tab grouping feature and I'm on a tab inside one of the groups, clicking "New Tab" opens the new tab outside the group. This behavior feels unintuitive and frustrating. Every time, I have to manually drag the new tab back into the group I was working in, which breaks the workflow and adds unnecessary effort. Situation now: When a URL is saved in Collections, the browser history of that moment is also stored there. As a result, when the URL is chosen from the collection and then a page is returned, an item from the browser history from the moment the URL was saved in collections is shown. And that's not efficient so I don't want that and I think many users with me. Idea: Build in an option that only the URL is saved in Collections and adjust the program accordingly. I am happily using passkeys via a fido2 stick with fingerprint sensor since quite some time now for sites where it is supported and the number is growing. I am truly convinced that this is the technology that will finally free us from passwords once and for all! But I also know the normal user, for whom buying an additional device for logging in is far too much friction to ever use it. My (technologically savvy) girlfriend looks at me logging in with my fido2 stick and want to do the same without having to get such a key. She already has her phone that can act as a passkey authenticator! On Chrome(ium) using a phone as the passkey works like a charm (for the interested: yes, also on Linux. I am using Linux most of the time). I and may other people would love to be able to use our phones for passkey authentication also with firefox! It would be awesome! After using the new tab sidebar for a while I have found that the X (close tab) button is annoyingly easy to accidentally click when attempting to switch tabs, especially when a volume button is covering part of the tab icon. Could there be an option to hide the close button. I can still close tabs by middle-clicking on the icons or using a keyboard shortcut. ... View more

I would very much like to see a Print option in K-9 Mail/Thunderbird for Android, much like you get in the Outlook for mobile app. When clicked on, it will use the print dialog built into your phone so that you can send it to the printer or save the message as A PDF document. It would provide an easy one click option to delete an email without clicking the email itself and opening it.  Adding a trash button next to the star button in card view would be helpful without actually opening up the email much like how it is in Outlook would be very helpful. ... View more

So when I type Ctrl+H to open the History sidebar, it focuses on the "Search History" field. One thing I liked about the old History sidebar is that I could close it by pressing the Escape key. Now, I have to click on the X in the corner to close it. I think the user experience could be improved by having Escape close the History sidebar, and other sidebars of this nature like "Tabs from other devices", "Bookmarks", and even the AI sidebar.  ... The latest controversial proton redesign added new two lines tabs, however it haven't been put to great use. I think we can do better and at the same time bring back the compact mode by merging the search bar and the tab bar. While we put the url directly into the tabs, other icons could go in the tool bar, making a better use of the window surface. The url is a clickable text area and expands to show the full search bar when we start typing. ---------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE 1 To elaborate a bit more on my original idea We could put the hamburger button on the left because it looks a bit weird next to the reduce button (at least on windows) The same way the download icon is hidden unless we're downloading we could hide the back and forward buttons unless there's something in the history The refresh and fav button could be on the tab (and visible only on hover maybe ?) The many icons that can appear on the left of the address bar could be fused all together in one single tabbed panel. The displayed icon would change based on priority : (btw the Extension label could be removed and only show the extension name) Which gives an even slicker look : ---------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE 2 With larger active tab and refresh/fav icons. Let's say I surf to website foobar.com. The site sets third party cookies for multiple other domains. The idea is, those cookies (and other data) would stored in the browser but they would be available only when URL bar is something like foobar.com (e.g. www.foobar.com). If I browsed to foobaz.org (in the URL bar) it could set the exactly same cookies for those other domains but the cookies set while in foobaz.com and foobar.com would be kept separated from each other in the browser. So, each domain in URL bar would be its own sandbox, or cookie space. Maybe it could be configurable to which domains this applies for, and maybe there could be option to include all except some by default. It would be different from indognito mode because the cookies and data could be preserved. Sites would be fooled to believe the user doesn't have tracking protection. True, it wouldn't be full tracking protection - they would know when the same user visits their site - but it would reduce the probability letting another website to reveal it as well. Of course cookies aren't the sole identification method and this wouldn't protect against those but it would add a notch more privacy. ... View more

I have 6 bookmarks in my toolbar that point to the videos page for different YouTube channels. Without grouping, this makes the toolbar much wider than it needs to be, even pushing out some bookmarks to the >> dropdown menu. A familiar way to organize the toolbar is to have a group feature where I can create a single YouTube (in this example) group, and where all 6 individual bookmarks can be placed. Doing this provides two benefits: The toolbar stays organized; I can fit other important bookmarks in the visible space of the toolbar without needing to resort to possibly clicking the >> button. Finding the link I want becomes quicker/easier because I know exactly where to go to find "that one YouTube link" instead of (potentially) searching the entire list linearly. ... View more

I've been using arc browser as an alternative to FF, and they have a really helpful feature that is a keyboard shortcut to copy the current page link without losing focus from the page and no need of changing your flow. I've been looking for alternatives, and the closer I found is to execute command +  L and command + C, but even if I don't need to touch the mouse or tab key to copy the link, I lose focus and is not the best experience.
