When I have vertical tabs turned on, I can drag the tab bar to change the width, and I can make it bigger so it shows the text of the tabs, or I can make it so it only shows the icons (which I prefer). But I can also drag it to have a width of zero, ...

When I have vertical tabs turned on and I fullscreen a window, the tab bar stays visible. It should disappear in fullscreen mode. 

So when I type Ctrl+H to open the History sidebar, it focuses on the "Search History" field. One thing I liked about the old History sidebar is that I could close it by pressing the Escape key. Now, I have to click on the X in the corner to close it....
