On my mac, I oftentimes use /etc/hosts to rewrite the DNS of a website. Usually to block myself from using it (hello facebook!). This works for all the major browsers. When I use the AI chatbot keyboard shortcut, it opens the selected chatbot in the sidebar, which is way faster than switching tabs for quick tasks like paraphrasing and summarizing. The main issue is that it doesn’t autofocus the input box, so I still have to click into the text field before I can type or paste. That breaks the keyboard-only flow. I’d love a small update where pressing the shortcut (for example Cmd+X) not only opens the sidebar chatbot (Gemini or ChatGPT), but also places the cursor directly in the input field so I can start typing right away. This small quality-of-life change would make the feature much more usable for people like me who rely heavily on keyboard shortcuts. Firefox supports WebAuthn, but as far as I could tell only with hardware tokens. I could not find a word about Firefoxs support of Passkeys (like Apple announced recently) anywhere Personally I don't know why passkeys werent adopted much sooner, it seems such a long hanging fruit to just store the key in the FF password manager. I use FF to support a web where there is not only one option, like Chrome, but FF keeps falling behind and behind instead of being at the forefront. This should be a top priority. ... View more

On Linux, I am able to set the homepage and new windows to a custom URL, however; for new tabs I am only able to choose between a blank page and "Firefox Home" which apparently is a different homepage than the homepage defined by my custom URL. While there are plugins to enable this, I believe this should be an easy enough addition to support in house. ... View more

I would find it useful to be able to have multiple Firefox accounts in order to have more control over what gets synced (and other functions).  Currently, I have one Firefox account for both my wife and myself.  This makes it possible to sync bookmarks and extensions, making our various systems easier to maintain.   Also, it would allow more flexibility when syncing with mobile versions of Firefox, since extensions cannot be synced beween desktop and mobile versions of Firefox. As we all know, accessing foreign websites from mainland China is very slow, and downloads are the same. Most websites have download speeds of about 10-20KB/s. It would be useful to enable multi-threaded browsing and downloading in the ABOUT:CONFIG menu. To prevent abuse, Firefox could also set some restrictions, such as automatically enabling this feature when the download speed falls below a certain threshold. As far as I can see there is no option to sort the list of tags  that opens when applying tags to e-mails. I use release 145.0 of Thunderbird, but this problem existed from the beginning. It should be possible to change the sorting order of the list of tags in Thunderbird's settings: It is only possible to add, delete or edit tags. Only name and colour might be edited. The sorting order of the tags can not be changed, nor do they appear at least alphabetically. Which leads to a list of tags in which the tag 'Zugangsdaten' appears before a tag 'Chor'.  It should be possible to search for a specific tag in the list that opens when applying tags to e-mails. It should be possible to group tags in the list of tags: I’ve already tried to do this by starting names of tags belonging together with a word or ancronym like 'Chor:', which would only work, if the tag list would be at least sorted alphabetically. Of course all of this can be done by the Add-on Tag Popup, but after Thunderbird updates are released monthly it happened more than once that no compatible update of the Add-on is available.  And working with the build-in list is not satisfactory.  I also believe, that these features are basically and essentially for tagging e-mails. Hi, I've been using your new Japanese translation feature a lot lately. It's a great, great feature, congratulations on developing this. But, It's annoying that I have to confirm the popup every time I want to enable translation. I don't know why. I mainly translate from one language to my own. The "automatically translate" feature doesn't work for me either; I need to see the original text first. I just need an "on/off" button in the address bar or a shortcut. That's all. The latest update removed the “Inactive Tabs” feature in the Mobile Browser, and instead displays all tabs in the window in order of when they were first opened.  Requesting to restore the Inactive Tabs function as a means of neat organization and aesthetics by removing clutter. When new unread mail arrives in a folder, Thunderbird turns the folder-name and unread-mails count to Blue. However, this indication does not survive a restart, so if a folder currently has new unread mail and TB is restarted (or for instance a Windows restart occurs) then the folder remains unmarked. Could the "new unread mail" status be preserved so that the indication is shown when TB restarts? I'd suggest that no "new unread mail" should remain unmarked, "new unread mail from previous sessions" be marked in one colour and "new unread mail in this session" be marked in another. My preferences would be black, turquoise and hot pink for these three states. Others would inevitably disagree, so a simple colour-select facility (possibly via config) would be desirable ...
