Firefox isn't with useful tool, which is tabs suspender, it saves of much hardware consume and doesn't allow your PC stay slowness and/or your own internet, because tabs can consume internet and recourses in background without you use it, so that's important and should be in all popular browsers including Firefox. I recommend they base on auto tab discard and possibly performance tool (by Microsoft Edge), because auto tab discard extension is really complete and very useful, mainly it saves where you stop on certain time video and performance tool saves much your recourses on your computer and is very efficient:

I swear I've seen an idea about sleeping tabs, but, surprisingly, I can't find it now, strange

I think attempts to optimize performance based on PC specs should be incorporated.

I support this because for a machine with 16 gigs of ram I only got twitter open in 1 tab and 1 window but this doesn't look healthy to me

So this would be like ‘sleeping tabs' in Microsoft Edge, right? I like that feature when I have to use Edge at work and occasionally at home.

Yes please! I use Auto Tab Discard for this, as I have tabs that I haven't used in days but need to come back to. Makes no sense leaving them running and consuming resources - and they really do end up eating RAM/CPU/battery.

I think the key here is to ensure there's an obvious way to "never sleep" a particular tab. Eg you may not want to miss an ebay auction or a web notification (email, instant message, MS Teams).

As a start, sites like Youtube, pinterest, web search could be snoozed with minimal impact.

I feel that memory consumption has increased since the number of content processes can no longer be changed in the settings. Is it possible that it is not adjusted according to the physical memory capacity?

I swear they announced a feature like this was implemented, but only automatically on certain circumstances (that I can't remember) and not on command, but I can't remember which version it was.

Kind or like seat belts in cars today, should be a standard feature to help with Memory Foot Print of FF, Don't tell anyone but I had to move to Edge at work as no Group Tabs , kind of embarrassed. Can't wait to go back to FF when the Group Tabs comes back and becomes standard built in feature. Keep up the good work on the new Features FF Dev Team. Thanks 😎👍👍👍
