I've worked in two companies where customers will send us photos for warranty claims etc. If the photos are sent at a high resolution they'll be huge in Thunderbird and go off the right side of the page. You then have to open them in a separate program to view them in a fit-to-screen scenario. I think this is when the photos are sent as attachments.
If they were displayed at a width to fit in the viewport all my troubles would be over! 🙂

Under Settings > Composition > HTML Style I have Font set to Courier as I find it the easiest to spot typing errors in and it also has a comprehensive set of glyphs. Despite this Thunderbird does it’s best to switch it to ‘Variable Width.’
If I copy text from a previously sent message that was itself in Courier and paste it into the Composition window it will paste as Variable Width. If I use Insert > HTML and then resume normal typing that too will be in Variable Width.
I believe that having set a font in settings that is the one that should be used unless explicitly instructed otherwise.

Problem: If you close browser and open + ctl shift T, we get back last session.
But if you close( session with 5 tabs), open again and did not restore , but open a new site and close. Open again, you will not be able to get back those 5 tabs.
This is not good. the history should exist till it is used ( ctl shift T). may be after one use , firefox can assume that user does not need those tabs.

It would be helpful to be able to zoom in and out of the agenda view in thunderbird desktop. Or at least enable to select a range of hours that define the view of the agenda that fits the screen.
For instance : a view from 8:00am to 8pm would be more compact than a view from 10am to 6pm.
Great job anyways team Thunderbird ! It's getting better and better (and nice looking).
A Thunderbird user since 2004.

If there is anything on the web more annoying than having to log in, submit a captcha, copy a message for two-factor authentication, answer an email, then log in again, I have yet to see it.
My idea is to provide hardware-based logins for web sites, allowing you to log into your device and then never having to type in a password for as long as you're logged on to the device. This could be implemented by using something like a YubiKey or some other device that generates a random certificate that gets put on the device and submitted in place of a password for any Mozilla-based login. From then on, the website then checks this random cert instead of asking for a password.

There are a lot of great products and services out there that you can subscribe to. Mozilla has some of them, NextDNS, Mullavand, ProtonMail, Floatplane, Kagi, Ente, etc, etc. As Google has come under more scrutiny in recent years, for better or worse, more options are becoming available. I would like to be able to pay, or financially support, these projects or products, but there are two problems. First, I have to keep track of all of them. Between the commercial and open sources services, that's seven different accounts in seven different places that I have to keep track of, each with their own password and payment model. I would like to consolidate those offerings into a single, bundled service that automatically gives me accounts for all of them, with one interface, one password, and one place I can pay. Second, although none are very expensive, it adds up quickly. I would like to bundle these things together in a discounted fashion to make them affordable. Imagine having a "Mozilla Privacy Bundle" that included Mozilla VPN, Focus, ProtonMail, NextDNS, uBlock, and Kagi, all with one central login and one central payment. It would avoid having to create accounts on all of them. Now imagine I had the same thing for the smaller video providers out there, like Floatplane, Vimeo, Brilliant, and Peercast. These are all smaller service providers struggling to compete with big tech. Another area that would make this more attractive is local news. Local newspapers and radio stations are hurting, so adding subscriptions in for them would help them too! The biggest goal with this, though, is to decouple the web from ad revenue. We may all have different feelings about ad blockers, but there's no question that ad revenue drives the web. If people had a way to directly support the web with a single payment method, places like Phoronix, Tom's Hardware, and the (now defunct) AnandTech wouldn't have to choose between respecting their users' privacy and keeping the lights on! I'm willing to help out with the development. I'm missing the relationships with these companies. Mozilla, though, is a big enough name that we can maybe do it if we try! RFC....

Using a (regex?) loose heuristic analysis of content on a website, this feature, if enabled, would watch for the 'over 18' query and automatically click to 'not over 18' link.

Recently, when I joined an online meeting through my browser; I had used picture-in-picture mode to be able to see what was presented while I used other tabs and programs. However, I noticed that there wasn't an option to mute/unmute, turn on/off the camera, and other controls. Now, I don't know if this is possible to integrate in Firefox's picture-in-picture mode. But I feel like with this kind of functionality implemented in picture-in-picture mode, it would save users' time in being able to turn on/off their microphone or camera from the picture-in-picture mode. Instead of having to go back to the tab where the meeting is and turn on/off their camera or microphone. Sure, some people would have the meeting software installed on their computer, but there are users would rather use their browser to join or host meetings.

Please improve message filter creation. Current process is very rudimentary.
We should be able to right click on a message to create a filter. Plus, the filter name and other parameters like message Subject, From and To should automatically be populated. Look at how Microsoft Outlook does it.
Thanks!

Currently the options (in Preferences) are
1) Preview in thunderbird 2) Always ask (which leads to an 'Open in...' or 'Save' submenu 3) Save file
Most of the time option 1 is fine. Occasionally I want to open in an external app, but the only way to do this (if Option 1 is selected) is to save it first - which I rarely want, and which adds unnecessary stuff to my PC.
So how about an option from the Previewer to 'Open in...' <default app> | <list of possible apps>?

Serait-il possible dans le futur de pouvoir déplacer manuellement la fenêtre de contrôle de l'orthographe. Actuellement elle est au milieu du mail et ne peut être déplacée. Pas bon.
Merci.

Hey Mozilla Team,
I would like to express my appreciation for the addition of the AI chatbot feature in the sidebar—it’s a fantastic enhancement to the user experience. However, I believe it could be even more useful if we had the option to set the AI chatbot as the default pane in the sidebar.
Currently, users must navigate through multiple options, such as bookmarks, history, and the AI chatbot, each time they wish to access it. Having the ability to make the AI chatbot the default option would streamline workflows and reduce unnecessary clicks, making the feature more accessible and efficient.
I kindly request that you consider adding an option in the settings to designate the AI chatbot as the default sidebar pane for users who prioritize it in their day-to-day tasks.
Thank you for your attention to this suggestion, and I look forward to your feedback.

Hello You have implemented the possibility of enlarging up to 500% for ages. Unfortunately, only vertical scrolling has been implemented so far, horizontal scrolling is completely missing and large parts of the pages are no longer visible or accessible in any way when the page is enlarged.

Step 1: Ctrl + F Step 2: Click brush icon Step 3: Draw on the canvas Step 4: Click search icon And then the browser will find the items that match the outlines on the page and mark them as such. This feature is useful when searching for a character that cannot be typed, but only if the user is able to use the mouse to draw the desired pattern without a touch or stylus. Maybe in the future it would be nice to add a brush with a different color, or the ability to find a particular frame of a GIF.

Dear Firefox,
I believe you should develop your own lightweight, 13-inch high-resolution laptop with a brand-new operating system. Call it the "FIREFOX" laptop. This would allow you to break the dominance of the so-called "reign-ers" and offer true digital freedom, free from trackers and the theft of user information. I'm confident this new laptop would sell millions and help provide the real digital independence that users deserve.
Regards, AZIM

In my dynamics of organizing my favorite addresses I depend a lot on the date they were created, but when I need to import from other browsers or use the synchronization feature in case I start using a new device, this date remains with the date the import or synchronization occurred and not with the correct date of creation, what I suggest is that this creation date is preserved when importing from other browsers or during synchronization.
