💡 Idea: Add a smart reply feature to Thunderbird that suggests automatic responses based on the content of the received email, with fully customizable templates depending on the context (work, personal, support, etc.). 🧠 How it works: When an email is opened, Thunderbird analyzes its content locally (privacy-respecting). It then suggests 2–3 pre-written replies that the user can send with a single click. Users can create and manage their own templates with simple rules, for example: If the sender is in the “work” group, suggest: "Thanks for your message, I’ll get back to you later today." If the email contains the keyword “invoice,” suggest: "Thanks for sending this over, I've received it." 🛠️ Additional Features: A template editor with condition-based logic (sender, keywords, priority, etc.). Smart variable insertion (e.g., contact’s name, date, subject…). Works across multiple accounts. Optional auto-reply with user confirmation. ✅ Benefits: Huge time-saver for professionals, nonprofits, and heavy email users. Reduces inbox anxiety and helps process routine emails faster. Especially helpful for users with writing or typing difficulties. 🔐 Privacy: All processing would happen locally, with no data sent externally — fully aligned with Thunderbird’s privacy-first philosophy.
