Reading of conversations

If I reply to a message, I have threading enabled so I can see the original email and the reply I sent (in Sent). (excuse my poor 'graphical representation')

If I read the "Reply Message", the reading pane includes the original message I replied to, not simply what I said.

I want to turn off the display of the original message, when I look at the 'Sent' message.

Example

Original Message : Hello
Reply Message : Good to see you

when I open the reply message I see

Subject and Message Headers
Hello
----------------
Subject and message headers
 Good to see you

I only want to see

Subject and message headers
  Good to see you

If I wanted to read the previous messages in the conversation, I would read those messages.

Can I do this? It would be nice if this capability could be enabled or disabled as a setting. I recently got horribly confused with an email 'conversation' between 4 people that replied to all for each message.
