How It Works Local Context Building: The browser collects search data, browsing behavior, and user preferences locally (not sent to Mozilla or any third party). Alternatively, users can manually input their preferences through a setup wizard. User-Controlled Context Sharing: Websites can request access to personalization data. The browser notifies users, who can choose what data to share (e.g., topics of interest, preferred UI themes, language). Enhanced Ad and Content Personalization (Without Third-Party Tracking): Instead of relying on Google or Facebook tracking, ads & recommendations can use local preferences stored in the browser. User controls what ads they want to see (e.g., interested in gaming gear but not luxury watches). Privacy & Transparency: All data is stored locally, and no third-party tracking cookies are needed. Users can reset, edit, or delete their profile anytime. Benefits ✅Personalized Experience Without Tracking – Websites adapt to users' needs even on first visits. ✅User-Owned Data – Unlike Google’s FLoC, no centralized profiling happens. ✅Better Ad Targeting (Without Intrusiveness) – Users choose what ads they see instead of random tracking-based ads. ✅Improves Accessibility – Websites can auto-adjust themes, font sizes, and layouts based on user needs.

Problem you are trying to solve
I'd like to keep my email more secure. I live in a country where stolen phones are really common. There is a trend of phones being stolen while the owner has them unlocked, and they try not to click on the power button to keep the screen on so they can access the data.
Suggested solution
I'd like to propose that the Thunderbird Android app has a security feature similar to the one on the desktop app, where there is a need for a password.
My actual request would be to have a password to lock the email app and possibly allow biometrics to unlock it.
There could be a timer to lock it again similar to what WhatsApp already has.
Screenshots / Drawings / Technical details
Options available on WhatsApp as a reference below.
We could also have an option to ommit the data on the notifications with the unlocked phone as well as the option we already have for the locked screen.
Both ideas were first described at: - https://github.com/thunderbird/thunderbird-android/issues/7529

One feature I appreciate in 3rd party sidebars for tabs is the ability to scroll to the top and bottom of the tab list by pressing a button. (If you are in the middle of the tab list, it picks the closest side.)
In the official implementation I'd like to be able to scroll by middle clicking the "New Tab" button, as currently this functionality is identical to left clicking the button. (Just opens the new tab page.)

First, I would keep the "Do Not Track" option but add a clear notice explaining its limitations and the fact that many websites do not respect the special HTTP header signal. Instead of removing it completely that allows for a chance of them respecting the special HTTP header signal, users who still want to use it can do so and with a full understanding of its lack of guarantee in its effectiveness.
Simultaneously, I would focus on educating users about the new, more robust privacy features like Enhanced Tracking Protection and Total Cookie Protection. Over time, as users become more familiar with these stronger privacy measures, I could gradually phase out the "Do Not Track" option, ensuring a smooth transition without leaving users feeling like they've lost a privacy tool.
This approach balances maintaining user choice while steering them towards more effective privacy protections.

Add a box you can uncheck on the 'Manage extension' page next to each addon/theme to disable them from syncing with other browsers on your account.
This would be useful in at least two places:
Setting different themes in nightly so is visually obvious which Firefox is open (I daliy normal FF but use nightly for testing code)
Only have performance add-ons were needed (eg h264ify on my old pc but not my new laptop)
Seriously Firefox devs, PLEASE add this, the lack of it is a problem for me every day, and when I switch computers I need to manually toggle about 5 things off and on just to do work (and by work I mean the all-important pastime of video watch).

Edit Bookmark and DeIete Bookmark are too close to each other, so it's easy to contact them by mistake, and it's too troublesome to add an option of “Are you sure you want to delete the bookmark? So I want to use Ctrl + Z to restore accidentally deleted bookmarks after accidentally deleting them and before clicking on a blank space. (For privacy, after deleting a bookmark, you can't use Ctrl + Z to restore the bookmark if you click on any blank space.)

I love where Mozilla is going with the home screen. It's definitely becoming a great/useful hub. Is there any way to have a sticky note system iconified on the home screen similar to the weather function? I suggest something similar to the homebrew app "Simply Sticky Notes" (fantastic).
much love.

In Firefox Android, when you maximize a video player , the text "Entering full screen mode" appears. It stays there for a few seconds and blocks the video controls and subtitles. I see no purpose for this popup message because it is obvious that the video player is maximized. Please remove it.

When you have like 2 windows opened where 1st is your main one and the other one was opened with ctrl+n if you then close the main one and the child one after and restart the browser it will show you the tabs belonged to the child one. Maybe that would be a good idea to toggle some setting which will save the 1st opened window as the main one for the current session. So if you do that you will see the main one after restarting if this setting is enabled.

Option to move the header to different positions on the display screen. For example to the bottom of the screen. This would allow for shorter mouse movements and the selected site to appear alone on top. Or if moved to either side would allow the site to be displayed from top to screen bottom.
A Foxfire Icon to return to control header could also be displayed as an overlay on the site selected to pop the Firefox Header back.

The "Create Filter From..." command is very useful if you want to create a new filter.
But what if you want to add a rule to an existing filter? Using the same concept?
A proposed "Create Filter Rule From..." option in the same context menu could do the trick. Once selected, the list of existing filters is presented. The user chooses one and the rule is created within that filter. The list of filters can be a displayed as a drop down in the context menu itself. There can also be a "more..." option that opens a filter list window with other options like "Run filter now".
See attached for proposed placement.

It would be really nice to have the toolbar at the bottom so that two hands are not required to delete, copy, move... emails. Also the ability to manually refresh (fetch) from the Widget.
Love it so far...

Hi. I don't think the idea is new, but here's a problem I ran into. 1) Closed the browser to refresh. After closing it, it did not refresh, nor did it start (control panel and taskbar). 2) There were about three dozen tasks from Mozilla in the Dispatcher. I understand these were open tabs from the last session, and if I closed them all, I would have lost them. 3) Eventually, the browser started from the icon on the desktop. And, far from the first time, it was as if it had been frozen for a few minutes. The idea is to have the browser, if the user closes it, independently terminate the processes displayed in the dispatcher. Without losing the history of open tabs (as in chrome). If I closed Mozilla processes in the manager (I usually closed them myself before), I lost all open history (I rarely have less than fifty tabs open at once).

Currently I'm doing research on a heap of products, and collating into an online spreadsheet. I'm wearing out the Ctrl+Tab keys flicking back and forth, copying/pasting etc! It would be awesome to "pop-out" a tab and have it "float" on top like what Picture-in-Picture does. I know you can the tab in a new window, resize it, move it etc but it still doesn't stick on-top and has borders that take up space. I've seen extensions that try to do split screen for tabs but they don't seem to work very well. Thanks!

[Crowdicity: Full controls on Picture in Picture mode window, 109 votes atm, "Mozilla developing"] Currently PiP window can only offer 3 buttons (4 if you turn on the mute button in config). Additionally it can rewind videos, but you can only do that with arrow buttons. It would be a lot more intuitive if PiP window provided an interface, similar to default browser video control panel with a few additions My concept is on the screenshot, where bottom panel allows you to pause/unpause, seek video, control volume, go fullscreen, etc at the top-left there is a favicon and page(tab) title from where this video is playing. Clicking it would bring you to that tab, but the PiP window would stay open (for cases, when you need to click something on website js player, etc). at the top-right there are buttons that close this window with opening the original tab and without Top elements have some space between them and edges so you are able to use this space to drag the window too (aside from area in the middle). Black bars on the screenshot are a part of video, but for videos without them, top elements, when shown, would have soft shading (to be able to see them). There's also a discussion, created by Mozilla team about this and other video features:How can we make video experience in Firefox better for you?
