It happens that sometimes at a web page login, I have to remember to cycle through open windows to find the open master password prompt window first.
Is it possible to make the Master Password prompt window appear "on top" of any web site login page to remind me and save time entering the Master Password?

Hi, It doesn't happen often, but sometimes a legitimate message ends up in spam. When you click to rehabilitate it, it should be treated exactly as if it had not been declared spam and go through the various filters like all incoming messages. (make it optional or not)

It would appear that having the online offline status in the status bar is no longer appropriate, so I suggest that some other visual indicator of the current online status be provided.
Extra points if the indicator actually raises some sort of issue that the user can see if Thunderbird can not connect to its own servers' indicating either offline or software blocking.
Thunderbird needs to become proactive in informing the user of apparent issues. Instead of quietly deleting the entire folder structure of an IMAP account and every email in it because of a firewall issue.

I've just discovered the containers feature and it's great.
However, one thing is doesn't appear to be able to do is open pages associated with no container (which IMO should be considered to be associated with a 'default container' but it doesn't seem to quite work like this) in a new tab, when the current tab is associated with some container.
There is an option called 'Replace tab instead of creating a new one' that sort of does half of this when disabled.
When this is option is disabled, if you open a page associated with some container while the current tab is displaying a page associated with no container, it will create a new tab to display the page in.
However, the reverse is not true: If you open a page associated with no container while the current tab is displaying a page associated with some container, it will NOT create a new tab, leaving you viewing the new (possibly unexpected) page in the old container.
My idea/suggestion is simply that this option perform both the above actions - whenever you visit a page associated with a different container (and this should include opening a page associated with no container) than a new tab is always created.
Perhaps this was the original idea and this is just a bug. Or perhaps I'm missing something here, just disovered these today and this is my only serious complaint. Although TBH I found containers fiddly to setup and sync - you have to install an extension, log into firefox account even if you're already logged in, and enable a bunch of things etc - not sure why they're not just built in, they're great and you can just ignore them if you want.
Anyway, keep up the good work as usual!

Bonjour.
Merci.
Good morning. It would be nice if we could manage display preferences when opening Thunderbird. For example, the opening can take place by default on this or that managed account or email address, and on incoming mail chosen by the user. Because currently Thunderbird opens on the last page consulted... not necessarily wise! THANKS.

Mon besoin (si évident 😩) est de pouvoir conserver les étiquettes attribuées dans "Courrier entrant", lorsque je déplace les mails dans un autre dossier de l'arborescence de la boîte mail.
Merci.
My need (so obvious 😩) is to be able to keep the labels assigned in "Incoming Mail", when I move the emails to another folder in the mailbox tree. THANKS.

I'd be grateful if you could consider this for the enhancement list please. On an old Windows 10 Home PC, pretty plain vanilla, to enlarge the text I have to: first, use the menus, View, Zoom, Zoom In. Only then will Ctrl++ work, and then Ctrl++ works normally (and I like it because it's far quicker). Thanks and regards, Nigel

Thunderbird has the provision for local mailing lists, i.e., groups of emails in the local address books. When these are entered as recipients in a email one composes, they can be expanded to the individual emails by right-mouse clicking. However, I often want to check the participants of such mailing lists as well as the used email addresses of individuals. The latter is related to the fact that I communicate with many participants using different emails depending on project or topic, thus depending on the email I am writing I want to use a specific address from their Contact card. Thus, it would be great if such local mailing lists could be displayed expanded, e.g., via a configuration setting. In an optimal world, every mailing list in the recipient lists would then be shown expanded in the compose window and marked, for instance, by a joint background color of all contained addresses. One could then edit the individual addresses as necessary and eventually the email is send to the updated list as, uhm, a list. Also, a keyboard shortcut for expanding/collapsing the mailing lists could be very nice.

Provide a facility to expand short text snippets using keyboard shortcuts while writing emails. In emails on regularly types the same text, starting from Greetings phrases such as "Best, <name>" or "With my very best regards\n <full name>" to repeated references elsewhere... It would be extremely useful if these could be stored in a little database and autoexpanded upon use. Either directly by a space after a predefined text or, somewhat more cumbersome, by a specific /text expansion/ code like CTRL-e or such. For instance, macOS has "Text replacements" that are automatically expanded when followed by a space. It would be great if these could be directly used also in TB on macOS, but a separate DB would also be okay. (maybe with the option to copy from macOS into the local DB...) There is an add-on (Text Insert: ...) for old versions of Thunderbird that promises something along these lines, but it does not work with 115. In any case, it would be great if TB would provide such a facility for composing emails more efficiently. Looking forward to see this implemented:-)

Some other users say that Firefox should have built-in Ablocker or ublock origin, but I recommend using Adguard as a built-in ad filtering extension, Adguard has strong ad filtering capabilities, and the Adguard browser extension is also an open source ad filtering extension, you can find the source code of this extension in Github, trustworthy, and in addition to some ad filtering features, Adguard also has other privacy features, and in general Adguard is stronger than Adblocker and ublock origin. The Brave browser has built-in ad filtering extensions, and Firefox should have them, so it can't lag behind other browsers for too long

Would really love a Trash Cleanup Tool. I want to keep maybe 5-10% of my old messages but my trash can file is growing huge. A simple tool would really help. The tool would sort and assess messages in a folder (like Trash) and provide message counts in descending order of qty by (selectable) sender, by sender domain, by message size, by subject, etc. For instance, make it easy to clean out of my folder all old promotion emails from Amazon, but not the order confirmation emails. Or all of the newsletter emails from Expedia or Travelocity. While I can and have done manual searches and bulk deletes, I have to try to figure out which senders or subjects to search for. The key here is an intuitive display that of who the bulk of messages in Trash are from.

This suggestion comes from the conversion from Eudora that resulted in multiple Thunderbird Address books. In an Address book search it would be beneficial if there was an "a, b, c, ..." shown to the left of the "greater than" symbol next to the Address book name.
Then in an "All Address Books" search, say, for "Kintisch", in the search result place the "a, b, c, ..." to the left of the Icon now in the left-most position of the search result. Thus I could see at a glance which "Kintisch" names are being returned from what Adress book [Personsl, Eudora, Collected]. This would help me delete duplicates and drag Eudora and Collected addresses into Personal.

Some of us use addons. Some of us change the settings of addons. Some of us like to backup their saved changes, or manage them externally for example with nixos or home-manager.
For both, we want to manipulate the list of *changed* settings, and only those. Because during installation process in nixos/home-manager, or recovery from backup a new firefox profile is created from scratch. I want to have the possibility to only deal with the explicitly changed settings.
All settings, default and changed, live in the `addons.json`. I want this file to be broken up.
This could work similar to the `user.js`, which contains *changed* preferences, which then gets computed to the `prefs.js` containing *all* settings.
