I have made many donations to Thunderbird over the years. I am very unhappy that you have no method of keeping track of my identity as a donor so that you will not nag me to donate after I have already made a donation. I would be happy to subscribe for a reasonable annual fee if that would purchase freedom from interruption by ads about how Thunderbird needs donations. Martin X. Moleski, SJ

I noticed that vertical tabs is finally coming and am currently using Firefox Nightly. A big thank you first of all for making this happen as it was the biggest blocker to coming back to firefox.
Similar to other browser deployments of vertical tabs, could you please have the width adjustable instead of fixed? Helps to see the name for quicker tab identification.

On Chromium browsers when you select some text there is an option in the floating toolbar to "Web Search" it, which opens a new tab showing results for the text in the preferred search engine. This was an incredibly comfortable feature for me and I was sad to see it gone when making the switch.

As the title says. I like the fact that I can completely hide the sidebar, but that also means that I don't really click on the tabs anymore, I use keyboard shortcuts to create new tabs, navigate between tabs, and close tabs.
However, in the event that I want to actually see my tabs in the sidebar, I am forced to move my cursor to the sidebar button on the top left, which like breaks my flow.
Thus, in my opinion, having a shortcut for showing/hiding the vertical tabs when the "Show and hide sidebar" option is selected could be really useful here.

I love the MRU order of the Ctrl+Tab feature of Firefox. Actually, this was the reason why I returned to Firefox after using a competitor for two years. (Vivaldi's MRU feature is buggy, most of the other browser don't have this feature at all or they have other issues.) When I press Ctrl+Tab in Firefox, I can see the 7 most recent tabs only. If I want to go back to the 8th or 9th, etc., I cannot do that. There is the "List All 672 tabs" button but it shows the tabs in the same order as the tabs appear on the sidebar, so it doesn't give any extra help. I think if I click the "List All N tabs" button, they should appear in their Most-Recently-Used order, not in the order how I created them. Could you change this, please?

When modifying the toolbar in Firefox you are not allowed to get rid of the forward and back buttons. When you drag them out, they jump back. This seems like quite an arbitrary decision, since you are allowed to remove and shuffle around most other elements of that toolbar.
I only use the forward and backward keys on my mouse, so the back/forward buttons on the toolbar serve no purpose. The only thing they do is that I occasionally accidentally click on them when I'm in a hurry and trying to click a (pinned) tab, to great annoyance. I wanted to solve that problem by removing them altogether and found out that you are not allowed to.

There should be an option to, upon being prompted to select a file, have Firefox open a small popup that allows you to either search through your storage as normal or (if there is one) take a file currently held in the clipboard. My previous browser had a similar feature and it had a great positive effect on my workflow.

Currently, when composing a new email the list of identities in the "From" drop-down are not alphabetized.
Alphabetizing this list would be most helpful.

Hi, Although Thunderbird Tools > Export, allows the for the export of 'everything' it would be incredibly helpfull if it could just have export option(s) with a / a selection of Account, and Configuration details, not just 'everything', all emails etc. This would greatly help with setting up new users / machine upgrates and transfers etc, even with backing up account details / configurations etc. Please consider. In Thunderbird Mobile email attachments, if any, are displayed at the bottom. Now, if an email conversation goes on forever, it can take ages to scroll down to find the attachment, and therefore you run the risk of missing it. Thank you for all the great work!

Hello,
I would like to suggest adding a feature to have the number of all added articles to saves https://getpocket.com/saves page.
However, the counter is shown when doing a particular search. I also attached the screenshot
I also attached the screen showing how I see this feature.

I use starred emails to denote important emails or ones that I need to act on. When you click the Starred folder it brings up all starred emails even if they are in Spam or Trash. Shouldn't it only search for starred emails in the Inbox? The others are irrelevant or have been acted on. This is how Gmail works FYI.

Dear Thunderbird Development Team, Thunderbird is an integral part of my daily work, coordination with multiple teams in several research projects in parallel, and I am very content, particularly with the newer releases. Still, I would like to propose the following feature: Since the share of in-person meetings has increased again after COVID-19, and as I am organizing meet-ups in across several buildings and with people not familiar with the campus, I have started providing proper addresses in event invitations. I would like to be able to store and reuse locations (a non-atomic text-storage would be sufficient), such that I do not have to type in the same address over and over again. Functional features I would wish for: “Places” panel in the calendar settings, similar to the “Categories” panel for managing tags (Settings -> Calendar), to manage predefined places. In the Edit-Event windows, the “Location” field should work either like the “Category” field, or be equipped with auto-completion upon typing and an additional button opening some modal to select and insert a predefined place (again, plain text would be sufficient). Storage in the user profile; this should also be synced, once the sync feature becomes available. (Syncing MS Exchange room mailboxes, or selecting addresses from the address book might be useful.) This would make life so much easier for me. I could use it for plain-text addresses, but also for URLs - e.g. of maps Locations. In that regard, this maybe related to the ideas proposed by Pierre, here https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/discussions/enhancement-suggestion-for-thunderbird-calendar-address-handling/td-p/70153. Best, David PS: I am using Nebula 128.5.2esr, 64-bit, just for reference.

All major platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, iOS/iPadOS) allow apps to have multiple icons, letting users choose which one should be displayed on desktop/home screen/in app menu. The icons to choose from could include legacy icons, Firefox Preview icon, recently released Halloween icons and more. Similar, platform specific ideas were proposed before (iOS, desktop), but without much success. This proposal attempts to streamline the voting by covering all platforms at once. Icon examples:

Using different swipe depths (e.g., <50% and ≥50%) in the mail view could enable quick access to four distinct actions, such as marking as read/unread, starring, moving, or deleting emails. To clarify what I mean: When swiping from left to right, the action would depend on the swipe depth: If the swipe is less than halfway across the screen, the action might be to mark the email as read/unread. Then, If the swipe goes beyond the halfway point, the action could switch to deleting the email. If only one action is chosen in the settings for either direction, the behaviour would remain as it is now, allowing for more actions for those who want it. This is inspired by some messaging apps I've used that offer different actions depending on how far a chat is swiped. I believe applying a similar idea to emails would be a handy addition.

Thunderbird can move folders to different hierarchies using drag and drop. However, it is not possible to move them within the same hierarchy, i.e. reorder them. The "Manually sort folders" add-on had helped to sort folders, but with Thunderbird 115 (Supernova), it is no longer available. It is time to make it a proper feature. I was involved in the development of the add-on to make it Thunderbird 78 compatible and later as a collaborator. So, as an option, I have considered developing another add-on for Thunderbird 115. This may not be impossible. (John is providing a POC.) But I would like to consider implementing the ability to sort folders properly in Thunderbird. My current thinking and the work required has been described here. 1846550 - add ability to manually sort (order) folders in folder pane (mozilla.org)
