Firefox now has native vertical tabs as well as a multitude of add-ons that make use of the sidebar to manage tabs (for example "Tab Stash"). In order to reduce redundant information on screen, specially when using the sidebar add-ons, it would be nice to have a button that toggles the horizontal tabs. When I clone a small/attached tabulator with Chrome, the resulting tab is also small/attached That behavior make a lot more sense to me, then the behavior in Firefix, where a small/attached tab results in an normal/non-attached. To please ALL, I might a good idea to add a setting, where endusers have the change to switch the desired result of cloning a tab.  e.g. [keep/small/normal] Default clone-tab behaviour. keep=Keep result of same type. clone attached tabs in attached tabs, clone normal tabs in normal tabs. small=cloned tab will always result in a SMALL tab. normal=cloned tab will always result in a NORMAL tab That should take care all cases or what might be missing? ... Adding a PDF comment turns on the "Highlight color" palette. This covers up a chunk of the screen. I'd prefer if the highlight color were left at a default setting that could be changed by clicking. If someone wanted to keep the palette up in order to more quickly change colors between successive comments, clicking it could leave the palette up across successive comments (but clicking it again would leave it off across comments).     ... The PDF editing feature is much appreciated! Title basically says it all. The PDF sticky note bubbles are so large that they cover the line of text immediately above the line where the comment is made, making it harder to read (see first screenshot). I noticed recently that some files I downloaded while in private mode just vanished. The files in question were books and articles I wanted to read, and I had saved them in advance. Lo and behold, once I looked for them to read them, I found that they vanished.  What happened was that a new feature was introduced, where downloaded files from private sessions would be deleted after the session was closed. I was never asked about this. I was at least able to find the option in the settings to disable it once I realized what happened, but why was I never asked even once? I don't know how other people use the private windows, but I like to play music in them sometimes or look into a specific topic, without being bombarded by the same in my YouTube algorithm later. So I also end up looking things up in those tabs as well out of habit.  I have no idea any more which articles I had saved, and I have no way of finding out what they were. It is little annoyances like these which interfere with my everyday processes that get to me the most.  At least introduce a temporary bin or a list of the deleted file names, if not the files themselves. ... Have option button on the Thunderbird and Better bird to instantly connect to the Mozilla Portal,  this provides a great Segway to connect check for updates and contribute to the community on new ideas and ongoing activities.    2. I use Firefox daily. I also use the extension "Tree Style Tab," but I thought it would be nice to create a vertical tab system unique to Firefox that offers the same usability, a similar UI system, and some degree of user customization. The current implementation of vertical tabs is "limited" and "not very versatile," so is it possible to create a "practical" vertical tab system unique to Firefox that is comparable to "Tree Style Tab" and offers a full range of usability? On Windows systems, when using Alt+Tab to preview windows, hovering the mouse over a window only highlights it without actually changing the position of the focus ring. However, in Firefox, when the mouse hovers over a tab, the focus ring moves to that tab, which is inconsistent with the system's Alt+Tab behavior in Windows and feels somewhat unfamiliar to use. I suggest adding a toggle option to disable the effect of mouse hover position on the focus ring, so that tabs only switch when clicked. (Some users may prefer the current behavior, so providing a toggle switch for users to choose might be the optimal solution) ... View more

I want a preferences setting to disable keyboard commands, especially destructive commands. Too many times, I have lost messages because I was temporarily reading email on one display, but primarily working in an app on another display. I move my mouse cursor back to the main display and start typing, only to be entering Thunderbird keyboard commands. Granted, there is a larger usability defect operating here (I used to teach GUI design), but a simple solution for me is I never use the keyboard in Thunderbird, except to type into a filter. If I had a setting to disable keyboard commands, it would alleviate much of my frustration. A less complex product will have less bugs. The core of Firefox should only be the needed functionality to browse the web. Additions that are built in like Pocket add additional code. I my idea is that Firefox should split Pocket out from the Firefox executable and have it as an pre-installed extension which can be disabled by users or even removed if they do not want to have have it in their installation.   ... Firefox supports WebAuthn, but as far as I could tell only with hardware tokens. I could not find a word about Firefoxs support of Passkeys (like Apple announced recently) anywhere Personally I don't know why passkeys werent adopted much sooner, it seems such a long hanging fruit to just store the key in the FF password manager. I use FF to support a web where there is not only one option, like Chrome, but FF keeps falling behind and behind instead of being at the forefront. This should be a top priority. ... View more
