  Dear All, it would be great if Thunderbird preferences will offer an option of disabling increasing quote level when replying as with some other email applications. The message is getting difficult to read after 5 - 10 email exchanges, as quote bars occupy large part of the message area, especially when formatting is broken with long lines and/or when viewed on a smartphone.             ... At present, the first time you ‘save to collection’ via the 3 dot menu on the address bar, the system creates the collection on the fly on the Homepage. Otherwise you have no idea where Collections is to be found. There also appears to be no way to hide or remove it from this location whether you want it there or not, like you can, for example, for Bookmarks. If you do decide to remove Collections from the Homepage it disappears from the browser altogether. It appears Collections has no stand-alone page of its own. So my request is a) provide an option to hide/remove Collections from the Homepage and b) give Collections its own dedicated page where it can easily be found and accessed. And the obvious location, I might suggest, is in that area of the settings menu where Bookmarks, History, Downloads, Passwords and Extensions are listed. Add Collections to that list. ... View more

Hello, I'm testing firefox on an android tablet and realized that I can't make remove its default browser, chrome in favor of firefox since I will need drag and drop images while taking notes and such. Upon further testing, here's a list of all drag and drop features that I think are missing: 1. Drag links/text on tab to open new tab in position 2. Ability to drag images at all is missing 3. I noticed recently that some files I downloaded while in private mode just vanished. The files in question were books and articles I wanted to read, and I had saved them in advance. Lo and behold, once I looked for them to read them, I found that they vanished.  What happened was that a new feature was introduced, where downloaded files from private sessions would be deleted after the session was closed. I was never asked about this. I was at least able to find the option in the settings to disable it once I realized what happened, but why was I never asked even once? I don't know how other people use the private windows, but I like to play music in them sometimes or look into a specific topic, without being bombarded by the same in my YouTube algorithm later. So I also end up looking things up in those tabs as well out of habit.  I have no idea any more which articles I had saved, and I have no way of finding out what they were. It is little annoyances like these which interfere with my everyday processes that get to me the most.  At least introduce a temporary bin or a list of the deleted file names, if not the files themselves. ... I want a preferences setting to disable keyboard commands, especially destructive commands. Too many times, I have lost messages because I was temporarily reading email on one display, but primarily working in an app on another display. I move my mouse cursor back to the main display and start typing, only to be entering Thunderbird keyboard commands. Granted, there is a larger usability defect operating here (I used to teach GUI design), but a simple solution for me is I never use the keyboard in Thunderbird, except to type into a filter. If I had a setting to disable keyboard commands, it would alleviate much of my frustration. I have a name composed of four parts, two given names and two surnames. Firefox stores the entire name as a single string, but when populating an HTML form it parses the name as three given names and one surname. This forces me to backtrack and correct the error in the form before I submit it. It'll do this even if I've already entered my name in the form and then select a suggestion for a different field, undoing the work I already did. Preferably, Firefox should store names in saved addresses as first name/last name pairs. When saving an addresses, most forms already prompt for first and last name separately, so Firefox would not have to parse the name to determine which parts are the first name or last name, and similarly when populating a form it would not need to do this either. Even if a form had a single name field that would need to be parsed to split it into first and last names, I'd only need to edit the saved address once to correct the information therein, instead of every time I interact with an HTML form.
