My suggestion would be to have a posibillity to edit JS files of debugger in vs code, webstorm, phpstorm or any other IDE and not have to only rely with browser devtools without any auto completion... In the Desktop Firefox "Add Bookmark" / "Edit Bookmark" window (Ctrl+d), after expanding the "Location" part - showing the Bookmarks Folders tree - I suggest adding a fast search line under the folders tree, using the same fast search engine than the "Ctrl+f" feature (allowing fast text search on the whole page by simply typing some letters of a searched word/phrase, without even pressing ENTER), composed simply of a text input line and a next/previous buttons. Adding fast search line would work best with opening the folders tree already fully expanded (folders and all levels of subfolders) for default (without necessity of changing the usual tree functionality). Maybe it could work better and could be easier to implement if the "Add Bookmark" window would be a "normal window" with standard maximize/minimize/close/resize/move features - in place of being only a popup window. Now adding a new bookmark to a specific folder is usually a complicated process, needing scrolling the folders tree and/or expanding some folders and subfolders (even much more complicated because of a small size of this window and folder tree box and by lack of possibility of resizing this window) in order to find the desired subfolder. Adding a fast search line could improve this dramatically. For a very long time I have wanted to have a button right on the interface of my Firefox that lets me clear the cache data and cookies with just a click. That way I don't have to waste precious time opening the settings, going to privacy and security, scrolling down and then clearing the cache and cookies.  I like to delete my cache and cookies often.  I would try to build a add on for this purpose but I don't know anything about making add-ons for Firefox. I think it would not only be useful for everyone but in particular for web developers who might want to create new server-side sessions often. It would be so nice if there was a button for that, a short-cut key, or even a button on the main drop down menu. It probably wouldn't be hard to implement. Any possibility to put a feature for when a certain source (rss,feed,atom) is scanned for a period of time and no post downloads enter a dormant list so we can check it is dead? Hi, since the newest versions of Thunderbird "threaded" conversations seems to be the default view setting for all folders. We have 1000's of folders and would very much appreciate the possibility to change this view setting for all folders...not having to change it per folder individually. So - either back to the setting off by default please - or a function to enable/disable the view setting "sort by thread" for all folders at once. ... View more

On Firefox Desktop there is already the useful feature to capture a screenshot while maintaining the layout. In my opinion it would be useful to have this functionality also on Firefox Mobile with additional features that allow you to remove, before taking the screenshot, certain elements of the web page (for example the classic cookie alerts). If you use the  'Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed' user preference (which enables website default 'cookies and site data' behaviour 'Allow for Session') you have to manually create an exception for each website you visit (user preferences > privacy > Manage Exceptions > Add) which is a lot of friction andprobably leads to many users disabling the privacy-minded 'Delete cookies .. when closed' setting altogether after encountering repeated frustration when they've forgotten to make an exception for a website and being required to login again. This proposal recommends adding new UI to the 'Site Information' urlbar to drastically improve the UX for this use-case by allowing exceptions to be set immediately via the 'Site Information' urlbar dropdown for the current website. This relatively simple addition will make the 'Delete cookies .. on close' privacy feature much more practical and beneficial, which appears to support one of the project objectives of being the most private browser. Proposal 1 is more explicit but requires a new label string. (see image below on right) Proposal 2 is simplest, with no new label strings required. If changing to 'Block' requires a page reload, it will need user feedback such as a prompt, or the text " (refresh required)" appended to 'Block'. Some background first: Many countries and organizations issue smart cards that carry a certificate that can be used to authenticate the user. To log in, a service implements an https endpoint that asks for a client certificate. The client certificate is used only on this one endpoint to log in. After receiving the certificate, it creates a usual session that runs without the client certificate. This is very nice since it is free for service providers. Technically very simple. And for the user very safe. If the smart card gets lost, the certificate can be revoked. There is no fear of loss of access to an account because authorities verify the person and issue new card to regain access. The subject identifier has a serial number to identify the user even in the case that the subject has been issued a new card after name has been changed (marriage etc.). And use of the card stays between me and the service provider. Authorities do not know where it is used. I wish more services accepted these cards so I could be me at the services. You can see an example how it works at https://dvv.fi/en/test-the-use-of-a-certificate. You may not have a card, but you find everything up to that point there. Documentation is also close by. You sometimes need to access these services over mobile phone. Mobile phones do not have slot for smart card reader, but fortunately they often have NFC and the card can also be used over NFC. It of course requires the card be held against the phone when being accessed. And selecting one of the many certificates on the card. And typing a PIN to get the card to use the private key. But since the service asks for the certificate only once during login, there is only this one moment during the one TLS handshake accessing the endpoint where this acrobatics need to be performed. I switch off the main checkbox "Shortcuts" because I want a certain amount of privacy (people looking over my shoulder not seeing where I have been). I still want to support Firefox with "Sponsored shortcuts" being shown and any revenue that may be generated from this. That is not possible as long as it is a sub-item of the main checkbox "Shortcuts". Maybe consider separating the two, so that people such as I can continue getting the Ads but still preserve their privacy? Or reversing them, so that the Ads are shown at any rate and I can opt out of places that I have visited? ... View more
