There is no way to just block autoplay videos. In settings you can,
Allow Audio and Video
Block Audio
Block Audio and Video
But there is no option to block Video. So if you have "Block Audio and Video" all videos will be paused, as I want, but they also becomes muted. So I need to unmute it.
I just want to block video autoplay, and nothing else. So I want a 4th option,
4. Block video.

sometimes on YouTube a QR code pops up in a video and instead of taking a photo with my phone I would like to just click on it right in the video and it would take me to the link.

I would appreciate if it would be possible to add hardware decoding out of the box for Firefox running on NVIDIA Linux machines, rather than having to jump through a load of hoops and installing the third-party nvidia-vaapi-driver This would help reduce CPU consumption and improve performance when watching online videos

Please add a setting for playback speed so I can watch videos at 1.25x, 1.50x, 1.75x, or 2.0x speeds and even include some slower speeds. Many default video players out there across many websites do not have this setting or it is turned OFF by the website devs.
This would be a huge development.

Not sure exactly what these streams are called, but they're common on network cameras, raspberry pis etc. They're a "video" which is actually a series of JPEGs that update every X seconds etc. Anyways, it would be handy to be able to pop it out, using Picture-In-Picture.

Kindly allow one to play YouTube videos with screen off while in your mobile version.
Currently one has to convert the browser into desktop version to achieve that.

Something like Microsoft Edge currently has. It can also be in the Toolbar for those who don't want it in the video. Why do this feature. Because it is supper annoying going to NV Control Panel every time to turn it off. Most of the time when i play games i have to turn it off, because having it ON Has Performance Impact .

DRM is very annoying and problematic at times. A settings option to simply ignore DRM instead of attempting to comply, while lying to the context that it is in fact managing digital rights, would make interacting with internet media in Firefox significantly less irritating.

Browsers such as Safari and IE11 support playing files containing multiple audio tracks, and allow the user to select which channel they wish to listen to. This is needed for files which have tracks in different languages, or tracks for different speaker configurations such as multi-channel surround sound vs mono.
This is experimental in Firefox as of version 33 (and in Chrome as of version 45). Support depends on two things: support for the AudioTrackList and VideoTrackList W3C spec, and support for actual multi-track media playback.
In Firefox, support for the spec can be tested by enabling the media.track.enabled setting in about:config. Support for handling multiple tracks tracked separately here https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1057233
This can be tested in Chrome by enabling the enable-experimental-web-platform-features flag https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=851160
Track stable support across browsers here: https://caniuse.com/audiotracks

Understanding Wide Gamut and Its Benefits
What is Wide Gamut? A "gamut" is essentially a range of colors that a device, like a monitor or a printer, can produce. When we talk about a "wide gamut," we're referring to devices that can display a broader spectrum of colors compared to standard devices.
Most regular screens use something called the sRGB color space, which is a standard range of colors suitable for everyday tasks. However, wide gamut screens use advanced color spaces like Adobe RGB or DCI-P3, which cover a larger range of colors. This means they can show more variations and nuances in color, leading to richer and more vivid images.
Why is Wide Gamut Important?
Enhanced Visual Experience: Wide gamut screens can display colors that are closer to what we see in real life. This results in more vibrant, lifelike images and videos, making everything from movies to photos look more immersive.
Better Color Accuracy: For professionals in fields like photography, graphic design, and video production, color accuracy is crucial. Wide gamut screens ensure that the colors they see while editing are true to life and consistent across different devices and mediums.
Future-Proofing: As technology advances, more content is being created in wider color spaces. Having a wide gamut screen means you're ready to enjoy this new, higher-quality content as it becomes available.
Improved Printing: If you print photos or artwork, a wide gamut monitor allows you to see a more accurate representation of the colors that will appear on the printed material, leading to better and more predictable print results.
Everyday Benefits Even if you're not a professional artist or photographer, you can still benefit from wide gamut technology. Here are a few examples:
Watching Movies: Experience films as the director intended, with more accurate and vibrant colors.
Gaming: Enjoy games with richer graphics and more detailed environments.
Browsing Photos: View your personal photos with enhanced detail and color accuracy.
In summary, wide gamut technology enhances the way we see and interact with digital content, making it more vibrant, accurate, and true to life. Whether for professional use or personal enjoyment, it offers a significant improvement in visual quality.
The Impact of Wide Gamut and HDR Technology
The combination of wide gamut and HDR technologies significantly enhances the visual experience by providing richer colors, improved contrast, and more lifelike images. Whether for entertainment, content creation, or everyday use, this powerful duo brings out the best in visual content, making everything look more realistic and engaging.
Key Benefits:
Vivid Colors: More shades and enhanced contrast for detailed, realistic visuals.
Better Experience: More engaging entertainment and accurate, future-proof content creation.
Firefox doesn't currently support WCG (needs some configurations on about:config for monitor color profile to support) and HDR. You see content like the left side, but once HDR and WCG are supported, your videos, movies, and high-quality photos will look like the right side.
You can test your browser and monitor for wide gamut support using this link (Chromium browsers are already supported): https://www.wide-gamut.com/test
I tested my monitor with the chromium browser and added the results; as you can see, the letter 'W' is inside the red square.
Dear @david-rubino, I hope the dev team releases this feature with the HDR support deadline.

There is already some options to manage cache, like:
browser.cache.disk.enable
browser.cache.disk_cache_ssl
But they don't seem to affect streaming video caching. In some cases, it would be more optimal to be able to use RAM for storing video cache.
There is also an option browser.privatebrowsing.forceMediaMemoryCache, but it is only for private browsing mode, it whould be nice to have similar option for the normal mode too.

so ive had a problem some years, i cant always afford fast internet for mobile, but i can always afford to wait. the issue is that, i have learned, my buffer cache is capped at 30 seconds, and my readahead is capped at 60!!! now see i understand why that might have been done, and during normal operation im sure it prevents some abberant behavior or another, but on desktop i have found that changing media.mediasource.enabled to false media.cache_readahead_limit & media.cache_readahead_limit.cellular to a larger number means that i can buffer an entire 30 minute youtube video, it entirely fits within my cache. i would like some version of this on Firefox Mobile where i can say "i would like to sacrifice some aspects of the quality of my user experience for the sake of some other aspect I reckon that doing this would probably make it EAT ram, this is fine. anyways i love you guys. love that you even let me do THAT on desktop, keep up the great work!

Firefox needs to improve its graphics performance by using the technique called "pass-through decoder", which bypasses unnecessary steps in the decoding process and reduces GPU memory usage by a good percentage. This allow smoother video playback and faster page rendering.

Add a better video casting support to Firefox, supporting devices with DLNA built-in (e.g, LG Smart TVs with webOS) and cross-platform (Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS), not just limited to Android phones and things with Chromecast integrated. It needs to be different from Opera's limited implementation that only works on specific content and doesn't work on YouTube and Instagram, since both use unique players that don't support casting.

For some use-cases (not maximized browser windows, usage of small screens and/or tiling window managers,..) it would be nice to have a function which resizes videos from YouTube and other streaming platforms to the full height of a tab (respectively window) as a media player like VLC would do when it is playing videos. An alternative could be to move the existing picture-in-picture mode into a separate (borderless?) window which users could resize as they please while providing the possibility for different operating system UIs to treat the picture-in-picture mode as a normal application window (currently not the case with Firefox v102.0.1). A video which uses the full height or is displayed in a separate window could have multiple advantages for users with the use-cases listed above: Users would'nt have to resize the browser window manually for matching the size of the video element on a web page with the window size to avoid parts of the video being cut away at the top or bottom. Users which use window tiling could have videos fully displayed without having to change their window layout, detaching the Firefox window from a layout grid or the need to zoom out of the web page. Users could (accidently - happend to me a couple of times 😁) close the Firefox main window without stopping the video which is displayed in picture-in-picture mode by clicking the "X" button at a corner of the main window.
