On the Android App, hitting the "back" button will eventually return you to the homepage. However, it leaves the current tab open.  It would be nice if there was an option to have the current tab close when "Back" returns you to the homepage.  I find that 90% of the time I dont want the tab anymore and have to manually close it.   This could be implemented as checkbox option in the "Customise Homepage" settings. Another option would be to simply reuse the last tab when opening something from the homepage screen. Either option would solve the tab accumulation problem. ... View more

Good afternoon, In addition to Firefox for Android, I have the program "File Manager Plus" on my Samsung Tab S8. I do this to add local PDFs to Firefox collections. I have saved a PDF file in the Firefox collections as follows: content://com.alphainventor.filemanager.fileprovider/root/storage/emulated/0/Documents/text.pdf It works fine until I restart my tablet. If I then select the file in the collection, Firefox generates the message "File not found" (see print screen) The link that Firefox makes to the pdf file is apparently temporary.(?) It would be cool if we could have a notification sent to your phone via the firefox app whenever your desktop finishes a downlod. To minimize annoyances, add a slider in the settings for the minumum requirement for a notification to be sent, or you can make it so where certain websites can be added to a whitelist which allows these notifications. This would help with downloading files from a sources like archive.org which has a huge download time. Let me know your opinions to this ... View more

Idea: add a simple game that could be played if the user has no internet connection. Reasoning: Google Chrome has the T-Rex Game, Microsoft Edge has Surf, Vivaldi has Vivaldia. Recently, I was testing uploading and converting HEIC files to JPEG on the server and was hoping to use the mime/type (or content/type) that was being sent from the browser rather depending solely on a file extension (.heic).  While testing, I noticed that Firefox was defaulting to application/octet-stream rather than what I expected image/heic media type as described at IANA. Would it make sense though to have support more of the media types at IANA as well?? On Android, we can click on "Install" to create a progressive web app shortcut on the home screen. However, depending on the website, sometimes they are simply named "Website". Before Firefox Daylight (79, fall 2020), the homescreen for the Android Version of Firefox consisted of a few customizable tabs, including Bookmarks and History. From daylight onward, the only homepage option was "Top Sites", with the option to both pin specific sites and prevent "recently visited sites" from appearing. As of Nightly 102, however, it is impossible to disable "frequently visisted sites", leaving the home page top sites as a hodgepodge of both pinned and "frequently visited". Top Sites can be disabled, but that will disable pinned and frequently visited alike.   Currently, the closest equivalent is "Recent Bookmarks", although this is not nearly as customizable as desired.   Some ideas.   1. Return the option to disable " frequent sites" without disabling top sites. 2. Further develop "recent bookmarks" into something more customizable, so that you could pin, for example, desktop bookmarks to the homepage. 3. Allow extensions to override the homepage like on Desktop, allowing for configurations developed by the community and users.   The foremost option is the easiest to consider, and would please me well enough. The second option would please pre-daylight users who long for the older workflow. The latter would be dependent on extension permissions and support on android, but would encourage user participation and customization. ... View more

I would love the ability to pin tabs on my Android. I have a number of tabs always open (news, weather, etc), and then I open all interesting items in new tabs. When done, I close those extra tabs, but often I close one of the "important" tabs by accident. If I could pin them, so that I would have to unpin them before closing, this would not happen. Every time one closes and reopens the Firefox Android app, it sets back every tab's desktop view to mobile view. This doesn't make sense when the user left the page in desktop mode. I would like the app to retain the mobile/desktop state after restarting the application. ... View more

          In private mode you have a option in the menu to open the current tab in normal mode so that you don't need to copy the link anymore to get your tab in normal mode. But when you have enabled menu redesign and navigation toolbar in secret settings you don't have that option anymore in the menu. Many users find this popup incredibly annoying, especially when attempting to browse and download multiple images in quick succession as it takes up a quarter of the screen. Scrolling down makes it go away but dare to scroll up (say, to search something else) it's back again. Closing every individual pop-up is just tedious.
