The reason for this; You'll end up with a "new tab" in between all the tabs every time you use "open all bookmarks" or middle-click the bookmark-folder. Proposed solution; When you click the "open all bookmarks" option when you right-click a bookmark-folder, can close the "new tab" in the browser, or be used as the first page of the list of bookmark-items (the preferred option), if the toolbar only shows on a "new tab". Thoughts; I realize it might seem like a small thing, but I can't shake the feeling, it's expected behavior. What do you guys think? ... View more

Hi all! I'm labeling and organizing my Firefox Mobile  bookmarks using contextual emojis in the bookmarks & bookmarks folder names. This has at least 3 advantages: 1) easier visual browsing 2) organizing / grouping by identical emojis labels 3) searching by emojis How-to: 1) This web page bookmarks with the text string "Mozilla Connect - Ideas" by default. Now for everything having to do with "ideas", I introduced the bulb 💡 emoji. So after I bookmarking this page using *Bookmarks  *Add from the menu, I would then edit this bookmark to look like this: "💡Mozilla Connect - Ideas" Similarly, I might add country flag emojis to bookmarks referring to a country. 🇺🇸... Or the magnifying glass emoji 🔍to all my search engine bookmarks. Of course, also several emojis are possible with one bookmark or folder. name. And you can put them in front of the name or at its end, just as you like. Now the best thing about it is: Firefox even allows you to SEARCH for emojis in bookmarks. So when I enter just the bulb 💡 emoji into the search box, Firefox will show me ALL bookmarks labeled with the bulb 💡 emoji, hence all my "idea" bookmarks! Got the idea? A blacklist bookmarks folder where you can add pages you don't trust or don't want to see again. To prevent the pages listed there from being loaded. on iOS put the option to have the bookmark button at the bottom of the menu bar like apple does in Safari. Or better yet, allow access to the Bookmarks area of FireFox through a shortcut directly on your home screen. there are so many times where i delete a bookmark by mistake and can't get it back... just now... i deleted a folder that has so many important bookmarks by mistake and there is no way to get it back or even remember what i have deleted! so please at least add it as an option when enabled, the bookmarks go to trash-bin or archive instead of disappearing forever. ... There should be a way in Firefox for when making a bookmark to later not show it in the search/address bar suggestions. Currently, there is only a way to disable bookmarks entirely from being shown as suggestions. But I think it would be more helpful to leave the suggestions on while only hiding specific private bookmarks. ... View more

It's within my opinion very important to organize the bookmarks. For example to be able to group bookmarks into categories or on the other side sorting the bookmarks like you can move websites up/down in the list would be more convenient to easily reach your most visited ones for work or school. ... When i sort my bookmarks most of the time the pages form same domain end up in the same folder. So instead of automatically putting the new bookmark in the last folder used, put it in the folder the last bookmark from the same domain went into. If there is no other bookmark from that domain then use either the last folder or a default folder. ... View more

When bookmarking the page and copying the bookmark from the Library, we get a "nice" html link as text/html in the clipboard. When copying from the location bar, we only get the "ugly" url as text/plain. See example below. -> Pasting into Teams etc. yields a "nice" link if copied from bookmarks (rare) but a "ugly" one if copied from location bar (standard case). Linux, Firefox 102.0. Functionally, the same is true in Windows. Note that Edge copies "nice" links from the location bar. The stars should be color swappable, so that when you browse to a site you've already bookmarked, you can quickly see your own notes/progress. Use case: Staying up to date on a specific technology requires repeating search terms every couple of months. which can lead to a lot of pages bookmarked, to check for updates, or new information, or new ways to use current information. Even a simple red/green star could save re-reading pages that don't update. Or, it can differentiate videos you've saved but not watched vs saved but watched. And it should be one of the simpler ones to add in, as you are already defining it as blue somewhere, so just change that to a variable and your 90% there. ... View more

Please Add a confirmation prompt for deleting a bookmark or bookmarks folder. But of course make it optional for those that want instant deletions.   I am a keyboard user and often navigate around in the bookmarks side panel and library with the home and end keys etc. But I am always nervous that I will hit the delete key and delete something by accident. I know that I can press ctrl+Z to undo a deletion, but first I would have to have noticed it.   I am especially more aware of this at the moment as my new keyboard has sensitive keys that require less force to activate.   Having to manually select OK on a confirmation prompt before a bookmark or folder is removed, just as I would need to when deleting a file in File Explorer,  would greatly alleviate this nervousness!   Thanks. ... I have been waiting for this innovation for years.  Could we have a feature where a user can mark 3-5 bookmark folders to stay at the top of the list when accessing bookmarks.  Instead of continually having to look through the almost infinite number of folders for those folders you use quite often. Such as my" Financial folder, my current played game folder, my health folder, my Alternative energy folder, my temp searches folder".  It would be nice also to be able to make one folder stay at the top while bookmarking say 100 tabs, and not all of them are related to the folder but enough are that the feature would help greatly, and speed up the bookmarking process. It would be helpful if a negation feature — or something functionally similar — were implemented for bookmark searches such that, if one had a bookmark or series of bookmarks that they didn't want included among their search results, they had the option to search for such. Currently the Bookmarks Toolbar option to "Only show on New Tab" is, depending on how you look at it, either not as useful as it could be or misleading. It would be ideal to extend the option to encompass all new tabs, not just Firefox Home. I prefer new tabs to be a blank page, but I would like the Bookmarks Toolbar to appear and then disappear as this setting would seem to enable. Failing that, it would be much less confusing to label the option "Only show on Firefox Home." I recently switched over from Chrome, and while I could find stuff in the about:config menu for keeping the bookmarks dropdown open after CTRL-clicking a bookmark, and having individual bookmarks open without changing the active tabs, opening a folder of bookmarks seems to ignore this setting and always sets the first bookmark from that folder to be active. I think having another boolean in the configs to choose whether or not to preserve this inconsistency would allow us Chrome migrants to retain our muscle memory on this matter without disrupting those who expect the tab to change. ... i'd love if we could have a feature to open a bookmarks folder, and then have at the bottom of the folder in our bar an "add active tab" button that adds the currently open tab to that folder, it's something Vivaldi browser has that makes sorting about ten times easier because you just open the tab, open the bookmark folder you want it in, click add, done, no more need to click bookmark and then fiddle with a folder explorer style menu at the top right. ... r-clicking on a Bookmark or Folder, then choosing Bookmark Manager should find the clicked element in Bookmark Manager instead of opening the new window in a default location. ... View more

I'd like to be able to lock bookmark tabs on the toolbar as sometimes when I'm clicking on one I accidentally end up moving it. It's not much of a problem but if you click the first bookmark and move it to the edge of the window, It will move to the last position on the toolbar.
