AMP, or Accelerated Mobile Pages, is a non-standard subset of HTML developed and pushed by Google. AMP pages are served from Google’s servers, though designed to look like they’re coming from the original publisher’s site.

Example AMP link: https://www.google.com/amp/s/miami.cbslocal.com/2020/12/07/florida-governor-ron-desantis-ordered-pub...

Real link: https://miami.cbslocal.com/2020/12/07/florida-governor-ron-desantis-ordered-public-health-officials-...

Brave browser is rolling out a new feature called De-AMP, which allows Brave users to bypass Google-hosted AMP pages, and instead visit the content’s publisher directly. AMP harms users' privacy, security and internet experience, and just as bad, AMP helps Google further monopolize and control the direction of the Web.

I think this would be a great (and hopefully easy?) feature for Firefox to implement.

It would be nice it this was added to Firefox. Like @KERR stated, the Brave browser already does this and so does DuckDuckGo. Maybe it is a personal preference but I like seeing and reading the original versions of websites. Aren't AMP pages just additional ways for Google to track and profile you as well as kept a hold over the web overall?
