So as I am using Firefox for years now, with a brightened attention to security issues I want to share some urgent necessities to the Mozilla Foundation. 1) An "Enhanced Strict TLS mode" in the browser. Which no longer allows to call up any plain http (unencrypted) content. Including any unencrypted cookies e.g. , Should also issue a warning on HSTS not being implemented on a website (as this may affect session integrity). Avoidance of websites having anything enabled which falls under weak security. (Requirement limits : RFC 8446) 2) TLS implementation should soon make a further shift towards tightened security in general. Which means: Avoidance/removal of plain RSA Handshakes and as well avoidance/removal of CBC mode ciphers from the browser itself. "ASAP". Alongside with it, TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 only being supported with respect to RFC 8446. Websites not providing it, or if not compliant (older TLS 1.2 standard) should be marked as "potentially insecure" (weak security). Warning on EC/DH/RS handshakes not having at least 2048 bits strength. 3) Known commercial websites with money transactions should actively and only be browsed using the strongest-available ciphermodes and use TLS 1.3 everywhere if and whenever possible. Which is merely a default on Server TLS 1.3. In TLS 1.2 however, the browser should actively take care of it especially. Active Lockout (supression) of insecure/weak secure content in such sites. RFC 8446.

Firefox seems to create bookmarks by default on the 'new tab' page. While this is handy for returning to previously used sites, there are sites for which you might NEVER want the browser to create a bookmark. In my case, Id like to be able to select and prohibit the creation of such bookmarks for any site associated with the financial firms I do business with -- banks, brokers, and crypto prominently among this list. I think of this as a security measure [I also don't allow these sites to 'trust' my computer and routinely use two factor authentication]. Seems to me that it would also be useful if Firefox did not create any bookmark to a payment site but this would require detecting that the page accessed is a payment site ....

When an image on a website is updated, the old image seems to be unloaded before the new image is displayed. During image streams, like the ones some older live webcams do, this results in a flickering "video", which makes it seem the stream is stuttering. As far as I understand the process for updating image data is as follows: image 1 rendered -> load image 2 -> unload image 1 -> render image 2 in place of image 1 instead the process should be: image 1 rendered -> load image 2 -> render image 2 "above" image 1 -> unload image 1 this would remove flickering to black and therefore reducing the apparent "stuttering" for an image stream. Google Chrome and Safari don't have this problem and the streams look much nicer there. I don't think this is a bug but rather an enhancement, so I'm posting this here.

I think it would be a good ease of access and quality of life feature if you're able to right click the tab you're wanting to view in PiP. For example, you're currently watching a video in PiP but need to close it to get a full view of whatever tab / application you're currently viewing, then instead of having to go back to the tab with the video and mousing over the video player to once again enable PiP you can simply just right click the tab at the top and enable it from there. A couple of issues I can see with this being added are: Right click menu having too many buttons, overly complicating the fairly simple layout PiP being unable to pick the correct video player if there's multiple videos on the page (perhaps it would be able to remember which video you were playing previously) I attached a fairly basic mock up to illustrate my suggestion.

Although the settings specify that jnlp should be opened with Java WebLauncher, this is not done for security reasons. It must be possible to store an exception /whitelist in Firefox.

This is just forcing us to move to another browser and that might not be as secure as Firefox.

I propose to improve the copy/paste functionality from Thunderbird. Ideally - as a default - formatted text should be pasted and adapt to standard settings in terms of...
Text size
Font type (Serif/Sans/fixed width)
Line spacing
Bold/underline/italic/trikethrough
Basic list settings
As option (via right-click menue): allow to paste a text with all its formatings.
Why I propose this: Often when quickly pasting a text into the Thunderbird text ediitor, the text becomes almost unreadable (tight line spaces, too small text size) and formating breaks once the text is edited.
I'd wish a non-brain copy&paste functionality in particular when working with outher open source tools.

I use Firefox 98.0.2 (64-bit). Is there a file containing all the Firefox browser print setup settings for header & footer, which I can copy from one PC over to another PC? The Firefox browser print setup settings for header & footer on one of my PCs seem to have changed, and I can't get them back to what I want! A simple single file containing all the desired settings would be VERY HELPFUL. HELP!!!

I had a window open, with a few tabs open. i broke off one of those tabs to create a seperate window. i accidentally closed the first window with a few tabs. tabs lost. very sad... i would really like if there was some warning about "closing this window will lose the tabs", or better yet something that remembers tabs even when multiple windows are open?

While working in a resolution of 1920×1080
The folder list and messages summary are very small.
Can we have the possibility to change the font size to a larger one?
Problem regularly reported on forums.

at that moment, it’s email protections are standard option, I think need Thunderbird mail for protection.

Please increase the height of the "Search bookmarks" input box (the one form Bookmarks sidebar). This input box should be greater than the height of the "text select cursor". I think a good height has the "Find in page" input box. Thank you

Firefox should warn the user in advance somehow (e.g. changing slightly bcg color of URL field?) that the next request will be refused because a background update has been done. It's annoying when you type in a long specific request in the field, press enter and then Firefox announces that it needs to be restarted, throwing your request away 😕

Its a little difficult to determine which of my email addresses have new mail when using Thunderbird and Pop_OS (Modified Ubuntu). Historically addresses with mail would show up as a bright blue, but now the addresses have a dark blue similar to the black font that makes up the addresses, and the contrast is insufficient. A lighter and brighter blue announcing new email would be welcome. This doesn't seem to be a problem when using Thunderbird and Debian, but was noticed with the latest Pop_OS (Ubuntu) update.

I rsync my profile between multiple machines and I frequently get the error that my profile was created by a newer version of Firefox. It would be great to have a button to Upgrade Firefox right there so that after restarting I can just continue to use my existing profile.
Currently I have to: Create a new profile, Update Firefox, restart, open about:profiles, reselect my default profile, quit and restart, then go to my Profiles folder and remove the new profile (which I often skip -- I have dozens of these one-off profiles now that don't appear in my About Profiles).

For me it looks like that every email account is reading one by one. Why not parallel? I have to wait until every account will connect and get check new emails. Would be nice if that could happen parallel, all email accounts ay the same time. To start Thunderbird would be faster.

OK, you get the notification there is an update. Like most sentient beings, you click on "What's New" prior to updating. The screen that comes up proudly displays the current (OLD) version and lists some details. This is completely counter-intuitive, It should display the NEW release and then show what it fixes. Showing an old number is just confusing.

I would like Firefox to sort bookmarked URLs when searching so the base or main URL is always the first shown whenever there are multiple URLS based on the main one. For example, if I have book marked bbc.com, bbc.com/uk, bbc.com/uk, and several others bbc URLs, I'd like bbc.com to always be shown at the top of the list, That way I don't have to scan through through the list to find the base URL. The current sorting is non-specific and annoying.

To save space I've been going through my "sent" mail and deleting attachments when possible. I like how the message itself then has a line drawn through the title of the attachment(s). I notice that the message list in my "sent mail" box still indicates there's an attachment for each of the instances where I have/had attachments. It would be helpful if there were an indication that the attachment has been removed, mainly so that I don't have to click into each email to see if I need to work on the attachments therein. Thanks!
