Although the settings specify that jnlp should be opened with Java WebLauncher, this is not done for security reasons. It must be possible to store an exception /whitelist in Firefox.

This is just forcing us to move to another browser and that might not be as secure as Firefox.

I propose to improve the copy/paste functionality from Thunderbird. Ideally - as a default - formatted text should be pasted and adapt to standard settings in terms of...
Text size
Font type (Serif/Sans/fixed width)
Line spacing
Bold/underline/italic/trikethrough
Basic list settings
As option (via right-click menue): allow to paste a text with all its formatings.
Why I propose this: Often when quickly pasting a text into the Thunderbird text ediitor, the text becomes almost unreadable (tight line spaces, too small text size) and formating breaks once the text is edited.
I'd wish a non-brain copy&paste functionality in particular when working with outher open source tools.

I use Firefox 98.0.2 (64-bit). Is there a file containing all the Firefox browser print setup settings for header & footer, which I can copy from one PC over to another PC? The Firefox browser print setup settings for header & footer on one of my PCs seem to have changed, and I can't get them back to what I want! A simple single file containing all the desired settings would be VERY HELPFUL. HELP!!!

I had a window open, with a few tabs open. i broke off one of those tabs to create a seperate window. i accidentally closed the first window with a few tabs. tabs lost. very sad... i would really like if there was some warning about "closing this window will lose the tabs", or better yet something that remembers tabs even when multiple windows are open?

While working in a resolution of 1920×1080
The folder list and messages summary are very small.
Can we have the possibility to change the font size to a larger one?
Problem regularly reported on forums.

at that moment, it’s email protections are standard option, I think need Thunderbird mail for protection.

Please increase the height of the "Search bookmarks" input box (the one form Bookmarks sidebar). This input box should be greater than the height of the "text select cursor". I think a good height has the "Find in page" input box. Thank you

Firefox should warn the user in advance somehow (e.g. changing slightly bcg color of URL field?) that the next request will be refused because a background update has been done. It's annoying when you type in a long specific request in the field, press enter and then Firefox announces that it needs to be restarted, throwing your request away 😕

I rsync my profile between multiple machines and I frequently get the error that my profile was created by a newer version of Firefox. It would be great to have a button to Upgrade Firefox right there so that after restarting I can just continue to use my existing profile.
Currently I have to: Create a new profile, Update Firefox, restart, open about:profiles, reselect my default profile, quit and restart, then go to my Profiles folder and remove the new profile (which I often skip -- I have dozens of these one-off profiles now that don't appear in my About Profiles).

For me it looks like that every email account is reading one by one. Why not parallel? I have to wait until every account will connect and get check new emails. Would be nice if that could happen parallel, all email accounts ay the same time. To start Thunderbird would be faster.

Its a little difficult to determine which of my email addresses have new mail when using Thunderbird and Pop_OS (Modified Ubuntu). Historically addresses with mail would show up as a bright blue, but now the addresses have a dark blue similar to the black font that makes up the addresses, and the contrast is insufficient. A lighter and brighter blue announcing new email would be welcome. This doesn't seem to be a problem when using Thunderbird and Debian, but was noticed with the latest Pop_OS (Ubuntu) update.

To save space I've been going through my "sent" mail and deleting attachments when possible. I like how the message itself then has a line drawn through the title of the attachment(s). I notice that the message list in my "sent mail" box still indicates there's an attachment for each of the instances where I have/had attachments. It would be helpful if there were an indication that the attachment has been removed, mainly so that I don't have to click into each email to see if I need to work on the attachments therein. Thanks!

OK, you get the notification there is an update. Like most sentient beings, you click on "What's New" prior to updating. The screen that comes up proudly displays the current (OLD) version and lists some details. This is completely counter-intuitive, It should display the NEW release and then show what it fixes. Showing an old number is just confusing.

I would like Firefox to sort bookmarked URLs when searching so the base or main URL is always the first shown whenever there are multiple URLS based on the main one. For example, if I have book marked bbc.com, bbc.com/uk, bbc.com/uk, and several others bbc URLs, I'd like bbc.com to always be shown at the top of the list, That way I don't have to scan through through the list to find the base URL. The current sorting is non-specific and annoying.

Sometimes when I start Firefox a new tab is opened from addons, or also whenever I update Firefox to a major version (eg: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/112.0/whatsnew/?oldversion=111.0.1) ; I suppose it's hard to block them, but at least can you implement a way to launch them in a new window instead of a new tab, because if I'm using many tabs it will interrupt my workflow (don't remember where I was), while I don't see any cons in doing it. By the way "Open links in tabs instead of new windows" unfortunately is not for me.

Hi,
i use Thunderbird since Mandrake's start / Win95 (early or past in this time) where have start TB at developing looking on.. in the first Releases and build up my own portable Thunderbird Stabile with an Exefile builder (look in my blackysgate.de/files ) at moment.. now was it so, i have become with to was build up an Mail-Check Program with the Name PopPepper and have give many ideas include Antisam Blacklist and Whitelist ideas how it could works in the past Forum from Poppepper, then was killed the old forum and later was builded the Poppepper as Commercial program with the PopPepperPro"Plus" with even these ideas wihere i have give in a longlong text Post .. suuper, i have to pay for my own ideas for the implementation.. and in the past old forum was speak about to be all Open Source..so, they have lay in the old forum where's no more exist...
So, my idea, check out Pop Pepper MailChecker from Esumsoft and implement even these Antispam include the Black and Whitelisting of mailadresses and Tags/catchword and other possibility's.
Today is so many Spam on the way where must easy exist a good filter where is more variable like it is at moment in Thunderbird..and a Domainchecker with different checks of the sended Domains also over IP==Name, like something:
From:
==
IP ?
==
Domain whois checker
wo have today Chat-GPT 4.0 so, why not bulded in add Automatism Mail Sender Check + Antispam + ,+,+ but only using at the Mailcheck for antispam, and not more.. but i know, it is builded in will it used by all other things too, so...hmmm...... my question, it is intelligent to build in Chat-GPT at all ?
There bait the dog in the Tail...
In any Case must be built in a more better Antispam with more modern possibility's where it is today possible to check automatic the sender and don't trust less in Spamhouse and co.. because they Blacklist what they want.. As example, i want/have make my own Mailserver in the Basement, but i be at Vodafone and all who use at Fritz!Box a dyndns Provider and use a not registered domain/IP at Vodafone is automatically by dyndns Blacklistet at Spamhouse and can't deblacklisting by self, because these dynamic bundled IP's be owned by Vodafone. So if you have a own small PC-Server or ARM-Server at the net over a Dyndns at Vodafone, have you a Problem if you make your own webserver .. Even this over who is and dns-mapping check should be able to check if the mail coming from the same domain and ip, so be able to filter Mailspoofing Mail or like it named, so emulated "From:" adress.. i become at moment mails from "my" domain, but in the Mailheader is a total other Mailserver IP specified/stated if i look on the Mailheader at source in the mail.
There should be a ISO/EN in the Mailheader where specified strict, from where, from which IP is coming the Mail.. is there to mutch in the mailheader is asking the Mail owner if this mail allow in future.. as example.. But i know also the Problematic of the Mail header and so on... 😕 but the Mailspoofing must be stoped .. in one or other way..
so, best greetings to the Mozilla & Thunderbird Community
Blacky

The "Tasks" list should optionally contain the previous and next execution time for repeating tasks.
This would be helpful to find recently activated tasks, that have been accidentally marked as completed for example and could provide a long-term overview for upcoming tasks.
