Currently, the only way to remove or edit a bookmark on Firefox Android is to manually browse through the bookmarks menu. This is a very tedious process, especially for users who have a lot of bookmarks and folders. Hi, In Thunderbird, when I double-click an email attachment, it opens with the default application I've set for that file type. However, I'm unable to add new file types to this list (please see image). For example, I frequently receive .R and .Rmd files from students. Sometimes, when I try to log in to a website, the password suggestion doesn’t appear. When that happens, I have to open the password manager in a separate tab and manually copy and paste the login details. To treat specific hostnames as secure contexts even if the protocol is http Firefox has the dom.securecontext.allowlist about:config preference. It would be great if this setting would also let you narrow down the allowance to a specific port since the https upgrading can easily break other applications. Chromium already has this feature: in its chrome://flags "Insecure origins treated as secure" setting you can specify URLs with ports. I have recently migrated from BlueMail to Thunderbird for Android. Two usability features that were very helpful in BlueMail are currently missing in Thunderbird and would significantly improve productivity when working with multiple email accounts: 1. Unified inbox / combined view across accounts A single consolidated view showing all incoming mail from selected accounts (as if the messages were in one account). This is useful when the user actively works with several accounts during the day and needs a global “what is new” perspective without switching folders. 2. Fast account switching from the main screen In BlueMail, clicking on the account name opened a quick account list for immediate switching. In Thunderbird, the user must open the menu first and then select the account, which adds unnecessary steps and slows down navigation in multi-account workflows. Progressive Web apps are an important feature of a browser that Firefox is the only one missing. For some, it can be the reason to switch to another browser. In other cases like for the Steamdeck, it's what imposed the choice to only include Chrome in the SteamOS interface. Hello, Today I highlighted some text and clumsily selected a wrong item from the drop down menu, and was disgusted to see I had started some AI slop built into Firefox. I then spent some time trying to figure out how to disable all the AI features that had been added/integrated into Firefox and enabled without my knowledge. I don't care for AI. I don't want it running on my machine locally. I do not want my browser interacting with external AI without my knowledge. Period. I'm alarmed this crap was enabled without my knowledge or consent. And if you like using AI, power to you. Similar to a variety of personal choices, I am happy for those who partake. Just don't force it on me. Enabling these features by default and not notifying users adequately is just awful. To me it is clear these features are not wanted or useful because if they were, you would allow users to opt in rather than force this on all users. I'm sure there is a rea$on this stuff gets stealth enabled for all users. There should, at an absolute bare minimum, be a very clear setting that disables/removes ALL of the AI elements of Firefox. I should NOT have to consult a non-Mozilla guide to find all the dozen or so about:config entries to disable. Absolutely shameful behavior and disrespectful to users. I just got the update that redesigns the address toolbar on Android. 'Home' is replaced with 'new tab' and the 'more' menu is much more comfortable. We also have an 'expanded' toolbar option, which I really like. I like these changes. Having to pivot to the home or tabs screen to start a new tab was really cumbersome. But now I feel like we really missed out on something for the expanded toolbar: a 'close tab' button. We have 'bookmark' and 'share', but no close! I think most people close their tabs a lot more often than they bookmark or share them. 'Share' should be replaced with 'close'. Share has its place in the 'more' menu, and it's equally trivial to copy the contents of the address bar. No matter what, sharing is always a multi-click affair. Closing the tab is the action that really deserves a one-click button. It's a one-and-done action. Having this button will make it easier to keep our tab lists clean. Additionally, being able to quickly leave a site is really good for digital wellbeing. The most robust solution would be to make those buttons customizable like on desktop. For instance, I'd also really like a close button on the simple toolbar. But I'd be content with just replacing toolbar share with close. 'Close' would be the furthest-left button to be consistent with the temporary browser (and it's just the most natural spot for it), bookmark would get bumped to the right. ... View more

Hello, I always have many Firefox windows open with many pages in each focussed on different subjects. The problem here is that all of those windows need to stay open in order to keep them accessible and grouped. That sucks up a lot of memory over time! The Firefox "File" menu has sub-menus, "New Window" and "Close Window". However, you have never added the menu functions, "Save Window" and "Open Window". Why does Firefox not have this? I'm pretty sure I asked for it to be added years ago. These two features will greatly heighten Firefox's utility in managing information! Please let me know if you can make this revision. I think in Chrome despite the browser being despicable the smooth animations add a fluidity to the browser and make it feel smoother. It's a hard thing to properly give words but it does affect the overall feeling and experience of using Firefox. There's a good reason all modern operating systems and most software add them. Heck even a lot of Firefox CSS themes add them and you can do it yourself through css although not to every single element of the browser. I remember wayyyy back even in Firefox 3 there was at least a fade in animation for tab hovering. So I've opened this idea in the hopes we can get something like this in Firefox! Please show support if you would like this idea too! Important considerations:  The animations if implemented must be consistant (toolbar, buttons, window decorations), fast and smooth enough to feel better than not having them at all, and they should ideally either be toggleable in the settings or respect your operating system's preference for animations being on or off. ... Since this feature hit my browser after an update a while ago, I'm constantly annoyed by it. I've been dragging tabs all the way to the left to rearrange them practically forever, and now suddenly doing this is pinning tabs that I don't want to pin - I'm just trying to rearrange my tabs. Perhaps I'm in the minority here, and that's fine - this feature can be enabled by default; however, an option to disable it altogether (via settings or even an about:config option) would go a long way. This feature greatly disrupts my workflows and has proven to slow me down when I'm in my flow state while developing websites. I need this feature to be toggle-able to continue using Firefox as my daily driver browser. Update 2025-09-29: This feature can now be (mostly) disabled via an about:config option (as of v143.0.3). Setting "browser.tabs.dragDrop.pinInteractionCue.delayMS" to any relatively high value should effectively disable the option. The value is the number of milliseconds before the pin tab option triggers. I set mine to 2000, requiring a full 2s before the feature triggers, which has generally solved the issue for me. Short summary: For searching and filtering "begins with" and "ends with" currently exist, but "doesn't begin with" and "doesn't end with" do not exist.   This idea is about the window called "Search Messages" and about the window called "Filter Rules" for "Message Filters". A few certain e-mail-header-fields (Subject, From, To, Cc, "To or Cc", "From, To, Cc and Bcc" and all custom header-fields) can be used for a search or for a filter with the operators (operators is probably not the right word) "begins with" and "ends with". Currently, the operators "doesn't begin with" and "doesn't end with" do not exist even though for all other operators there is a second opposite operator with "not" e.g. "is" and "isn't" or "contains" and "doesn't contain" (or without "not" e.g. "is greater than" or "is less than"). I would like that the operators "doesn't begin with" and "doesn't end with" are added.   Side note: I know that "doesn't contain" can be used right now instead of "doesn't begin with" and "doesn't end with" and that "doesn't contain" is good enough in some cases. ... The recent list on most recently copied to or moved folder list is now sorted by most recent destination folder. That makes anything but the most recent couple of destination folders very difficult to find, and thus defeats the purpose of having a Recent option for moving or copying. Who can remember what the 7th last destination you had or the 11th last destination, etc. The most recent sorted order forces you to read the whole list every time.
