I love Thunderbird and have been using it for years! I'm also very progressive in looking for ways to improve the foundational tech behind our current Web2 infrastructure.  For the last 12 months I've been looking into the potential of Internet Computer Protocol, and very strongly suggest that the dev team look into this. It's an actual, working "world computer" that offers a completely new paradigm for large scale web based systems, built entirely using blockchain technology. I am coming to Thunderbird from having been a long time user of PostBox (PB) -- which unfortunately has been sold to eM Client. The Favorite option in PB had 2 function I much appreciated: the ability to select the order of the folders; and when a favorite folder had subfolders, that drop down option was also available when it was a favorite I have been saving my emails for more than 20 years, dragging from one client to the next. The result is that many of my folders have a subfolder called "Archive." If I favorite more than one of them, I can't distinguish which is which. On the other hand, having a favorite folder be able to have a drop down selection, resolves this issue. Amongst others. I often use "Send tab to device" from my desktop to my mobile (iOS) to send friends links. This results in a notification toast that says "Tab received" and then shows the URL of the page. I am wondering if it would be possible to add the ability to hard press (i.e. "3D/haptic touch") on these notifications to copy the URL directly, so we don't have to go into the Firefox mobile app to copy it. ... First of all, kudos on the recent introduction of the vertical tab feature! It's a fantastic addition that helps maximize vertical screen real estate — something I and many others really appreciate. I enabled hiding the tab list by default to gain even more usable space. While this does work well for a cleaner look, it does come with a tradeoff: losing visual cues for open tabs — like how many tabs are open or which one I'm currently on. I suggest implementing a Tab Preview feature when pressing Ctrl+Tab, similar to how Windows shows app previews when you use Alt+Tab. ... View more

When moving the mouse over a message containing an hidden  link, the real web address is displayed on the bottom part of TB. which is helpfull to identify scam/phishing emails. But if thunderbird is in his downloading phase, the notifications (downloading message xx from yy server" is at the same place....hiding the other indication....so that you ar not warned anymore.... security and activities notifications should not be at the same place ... Currently, the Firefox address bar calculator only works in non-Private browsing tabs. I assume calculations are done locally, so I see no good reason this should not be allowed. Please let me know if this is a bug and I will report it. In the Windows EventViewer you can Setup an Task Schedule for specific Events like Disk Error. In this Windows Task you can specify a Batch File with this Entry: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" -compose to=IT@IT.de,subject=Disk Error,Festplattenfehler Unfortunately ther is no Switch like -send. I used to be able to push the top of Firefox browser window above the top of the screen. This is no longer possible - the window keeps snapping back inside the top of the screen. (Sides do not have this behavior - I can push a window sideways off the screen.) When top of the window is at the top of the screen there is a small gap of inert space above the tabs. Moving my cursor to the top of the screen to switch tabs with top snapping inside screen now means I have to add a Y-axis mousing as well. When I was able to push the top of the window just a bit above the top of the screen I only had to push my cursor to the top of the screen, and then I only had to mouse X-axis to select any tab. I'm not good mousing so having the only X-axis mousing to pick tabs was much easier. I want that back. ... View more
