Thunderbird Desktop lets users move an email from one account to a completely different account (e.g., from a Gmail IMAP account to another IMAP or POP3 account). This is currently not possible on Thunderbird for Android: the "Move" function only works within folders of the same account. Requested feature: Add the ability to move and copy an email from one configured account to a different account on Thunderbird for Android, matching the behavior already available on Thunderbird Desktop. Use case: Users who manage multiple email accounts on their phone (e.g., personal + professional, or several IMAP providers) often need to reorganize messages across accounts — for archiving, forwarding a whole folder to another mailbox, or consolidating accounts — without having to manually forward/re-download each message. Currently, Thunderbird for Android relies on Google FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) for push notifications.  For users who do not have any ties to Google at all (meaning no GApps installed), there are currently no options for push notifications within Thunderbird.  UnifiedPush has several implementation apps (such as ntfy, Sunup, et cetera) making it easy to set up push notifications as long as the app itself supports integrating with a push distributor. Please add an option to display image attachments inline in Thunderbird for Android. Currently, every attached photo has to be opened individually, which is inconvenient when an email contains multiple images. An optional setting like "Display image attachments inline" (similar to Thunderbird Desktop) would greatly improve usability while allowing users to keep the current behavior if they prefer. Native Huawei Email app has an option to show only unread emails from both unified inbox and all subfolders. You can access it by long pressing an app icon and it will show any unread email in whole mailbox(es). When you read email and go back, particular email will not be shown anymore. Instead of shoving so called AI tools in Firefox, I would love a feature that can detect AI content, whether in text or in media (audio, image, video). Right click a text selection, an image or a video and select "Is it AI?". A popup appears and gives an answer. You could also add this feature to Thunderbird. ... View more

Thunderbird Android supports email encryption and signing using OpenPGP. I would like to add support for S/MIME. Our company Ciphermail (www.ciphermail.com) provides an open source email encryption server product. We also have Ciphermail Android, a free app for encrypting and signing email. Our proposal is to convert this app to a companion app to Thunderbird, as a plugin, in much the same way that Thunderbird Android now supports OpenPGP. We would make our app open source. ... After using AquaMail for years, I found out that there exists also Thunderbird for Android. Fantastic, I thougt, because I've been using Thunderbird Desktop for years. Great (and a clear advantage to AquaMail) is the representation of the folders and sub-folders But what a disappointment: no possibility for Rich-text-Format (Bold, Italic, Colors,  ...). I'd request to have time and date shown on each email opened without the need to either click on sender nor the need of opening the header to read through ugly code. I think there is space to implement this without doubt, it's just too important to hide it. Currently, you can set the theme (dar/light/system) in Thunderbird for Mobile. Yet, regardless of the choice, the widget is always in light theme. It should adjust to the theme setting as the rest of the app. ... View more

When using Unified Inbox, the Message List does not indicate which email account. Some sort of color indication could show which email account the message is from.  Blue Mail Android does this very well and give the user to pick a color for each email account. I would appreciate it if TB Mobile could have a unified folder option for Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Spam and Trash. It would be very convenient to check only the unified folders instead of checking all the folders of each mail account I added to TB individually. I love my PC Thunderbird. Filtering saves me so much time and when a new vendor reaches me, I just create a new rule. It is so simple and effective. But I have not seen the Thunderbird for Android. I have tried K-9 mail and a couple others, but no filtering option exists and spam does not allow you to unenroll, they just give your address to 10 more people and your life gets worse. So filtering allows you to redirect it out of your face. So email on my Android is still not useable because all the spam fills up my phone and chokes it. When will we be getting the Android version? Or is one out and I just don't know what it is called? ... View more
