Some times I inadvertently clear history in the search box and there is no way to recover the history. I lose months worth of search terms that I use to navigate among websites rather than using bookmarks. Normally I type two or three letters into the search box and then click on the stored search term. One inadvertent keystroke or mouse click and it's gone. How about making it a two-step process with a dialog box that asks, "Are you sure you want to clear history?" and offer a chance to click a yes or no button to confirm or refuse the action Or maybe offer an undo function for clear history. ... Visit a URL with an anchor reference: https://www.example.com/page#test Use address bar search and type "#test" - if you have a bunch of other urls with "test" in it, the "#test" url is not prioritized as an exact match. Seems like # is being ignored, which is not helpful and goes against my explicit wish to search for it by typing it into the search! ... View more

I work for a library and it would be great if firefox had a built in safe search like other browsers. We need to be able to block people from looking up inappropriate images via browser searches & firefox is the only browser we have that doesn't appear to have it where we can turn something like that on via group policy. Hello, I’ve turned off Firefox suggestions and search suggestions in my desktop and laptop browsers and cleared all history and cached data from my account, yet Firefox suggestions still shows up on the iPhone app with data that’s supposed to have been deleted. I still miss the ability to add a custom search engine in Firefox Desktop, which has been there in Firefox for Android for years. Kinda weird that Android has an option the desktop version lacks of. Or do I need to enable dev mode or something in the config? Clicking "find more search engines" only leads to the addons page. On android however, you can add your own site and you can then directly search it from the address bar, for example I added https://www.m.dict.cc/?s=%s to quickly lookup dict.cc for translations, it directly searches for the word I type in. ... When adding a new bookmark by clicking the star icon, the "Add Bookmark" popup appears,  in the "Location" selectbox, the last used bookmarks folder is selected by default, to choose another bookmarks folder, we need to click the Location selectbox then we click "choose" and the bookmarks folders tree expands, then we select a desired folder. Please add the ability to show search suggestions with any search engine on Android. I use Neeva as my primary search engine and on desktop I was able to add the Neeva search extension and get search suggestions in the address bar when searching, but this is not possible on Android. The lack of this feature on Android is the only thing keeping me from fully switching to Firefox as my default browser. I'll be sticking with Opera until this feature is added. ... View more

When I search for bookmarks the search results only show the bookmarks. But I would also like to see folders in the results. E.g. I have a folder named "weather websites". If I search for "weather", I would like to see this folder in the search results. Wikipedia mobile pages render with sections collapsed. (hidden?)  When I search for something in the page, the results include only what is in the non-collapsed sections. If I then open a section that includes search term, the search results do not change. Only when I open the section, AND edit the search term (say, delete & restore its last letter,) do the search results update. Suggestions: 1.  Have a search option to include or omit collapsed sections. 2.  While the search is open, and the user opens a collapsed section, automatically update the search results.  (This infers also updating results when a section is collapsed.) I leave it to HTML experts how to distinguish collapsed content text from menu items, mouseover pop-ups, alt text, and other more “structural” text content. ... View more

Doing a lot of googling every day, I find myself fiddling with the context menu really often. Instead of text selection > context menu > click, I could be using: text selection > shortcut. A small improvement sure, but a really useful one in my opinion. The shortcut would have to be something usable with one hand for this to be useful. Most of the Ctrl + single letters are taken already on the left side of the keyboard, but I'd say even Ctrl + Shift + F could be useful. ... View more

I want to be able to create a list of words that I don't want to see in the search suggestions. Take the example above. If I didn't want any spoilers, I could have "death" and "dies" in the list, then the second, third, and fourth options would not appear in the search suggestions.
