The 'Create Strong Password' feature in the Firefox Password Manager is an excellent feature, and extremely useful. Occasionally, however, on some websites whatever mechanism that invokes the Create Strong Password widget fails to recognize that you are in fact creating a new password. Firefox does recognize, upon login, that a credential has been created and offers to save that credential, so I believe it may just be perhaps a mislabeled form or field, which you obviously cannot control. In this instance however, the user must supply their own unique password, which is probably not as secure as one generated through the Create Strong Password widget.  I believe it would be beneficial to create a means of invoking the Create Strong Password feature on demand, should Firefox be unable to trigger automatically. When I start Thunderbird, the request for the main password prompt appears, if you click on cancel there, Thunderbird still starts, wouldn't it be better if you had an option that cancels the startup process completely, if you changed your mind and didn't want to start Thunderbird or accidentally. ... Firefox needs to save the old passwords so a user can lookup previously used passwords.  Now that many work/medical/financial websites require routine updates to passwords, I need to be able to see 3 or 4 versions back so I don't accidentally reuse one too soon.  I was trying to look up an old password and it would be really convenient if I could see previously used passwords once I was logged into my browser.  Maybe you protect that view with a application level password so a visiting user can't peek at them. ... Existing primary password for Firefox:       prevents from filling in and changing passwords, but you can just cancel the dialog box and use all websites including email etc. with PREFILLED passwords -> not so secure when people around you. When credit cards on shopping websites are registered, someone could make orders, for example... Super primary password (super primary plus primary):  if activated and the browser started, you must fill in a "super primary" so that it unblocks the browser. You can only browse when you unblock the blocked browser after a fresh start. From what I've heard Firefox for desktop has a password generator, which is great, but firefox for mobile does not, even though the Lockwise app had it. I think password generation is very important, since not having to remember difficult passwords is the main perk of a password manager. googling for password generation on mobile is less convinient than on a desktop, so I wouldn't be surprised if people just don't do that. Sometimes, when I try to log in to a website, the password suggestion doesn’t appear. When that happens, I have to open the password manager in a separate tab and manually copy and paste the login details. I am happily using passkeys via a fido2 stick with fingerprint sensor since quite some time now for sites where it is supported and the number is growing. I am truly convinced that this is the technology that will finally free us from passwords once and for all! But I also know the normal user, for whom buying an additional device for logging in is far too much friction to ever use it. My (technologically savvy) girlfriend looks at me logging in with my fido2 stick and want to do the same without having to get such a key. She already has her phone that can act as a passkey authenticator! On Chrome(ium) using a phone as the passkey works like a charm (for the interested: yes, also on Linux. I am using Linux most of the time). I and may other people would love to be able to use our phones for passkey authentication also with firefox! It would be awesome! I think it would be helpful if it was possible to add custom fields (or a textarea for notes) to stored passwords to securely store additional information (like security questions, customer support pins, etc.) Additionally it would be nice to be able to store and sync other credentials and information in Firefox, that don't link to websites, like (recovery-)keys for BitLocker/TrueCrypt/LUKS-LVM partitions, WiFi Passwords and Credit Cards. For passwords I use a dedicated password manager that I use for all kinds of passwords. I don´t want to store and sync passwords in browsers for obvious reasons. However I don´t mind other browser specific information like address, phone, email, payment information to be stored and synced in my browser. I would like to generate a secure password from the about:logins page. On some websites, the browser does not recognize the password field and therefore does not suggest a strong password. I also want to generate passwords for desktop apps, other devices etc. Currently I have to navigate to a random website, pretend to create a new account, then copy the generated password. Instead I would like to open the passwords manager and generate a new password from there. There is already a button to create a new login in the passwords manager. The problem is that the password field has two buttons: “Log in” and “Cancel”. In my opinion, pressing the “Cancel” button should cause the program to close.
