Simple suggestion: keep the message totals of the 1st level subfolders in version 102.
It started to indicate zero (...) needing to open the 2nd level subfolders to see the total of each one...

In Firefox 102.0 it is not possible to drag a URL from the address bar to windows desktop creating a link if the URL ends in ".html". If the URL does not end in ".html" like "https://connect.mozilla.org/", then it works.

Category: Desktop, PDF Viewer
Idea: As an end user, one of my key needs is the ability to read, fill out, and save PDF documents in Firefox for future reference. While adding text to PDF forms is straightforward, there's a common feature in many PDF forms that could be greatly improved: checkboxes.
Currently, when completing PDF forms, users often encounter checkboxes that need to be marked with a tick (✔) or cross (✘). However, these symbols are not easily accessible in the Firefox PDF viewer. To enhance usability and streamline form completion, I propose introducing a simple dropdown or toolbar option that includes these commonly used symbols.
Proposed Solution:
Add a feature to the Firefox PDF viewer that provides quick access to tick (✔, Unicode: U+2714) and cross (✘, Unicode: U+2718) symbols. This feature could be implemented as part of the text annotation or form-filling tools, making it intuitive and readily available. Include the option to insert these symbols directly into checkboxes or any other relevant areas of a PDF form.
Benefits:
Significantly improves the user experience for completing PDF forms in Firefox. Saves time and effort by eliminating the need to copy and paste these symbols from external sources. Encourages users to rely on Firefox as a comprehensive PDF viewer and editor.
This small addition would make a big difference for users like me who frequently fill out and save forms using the Firefox PDF viewer. Thank you for considering this idea, and I hope it aligns with your commitment to creating user-friendly and accessible tools.

I'd love to see a feature added to browser vertical tabs as it comes very very handy and convenient to many users like me that allows for per-tab scrolling and navigating easily via the mouse wheel. Currently, hovering over the vertical tab list and using the mouse wheel scrolls the entire page\list of tabs opened in the sidebar. My proposed feature could include an optional toggle. When enabled, hovering over the vertical tab list and scrolling with the mouse wheel would advance the selection in the direction of mouse-wheel scroll by one tab per "click\scroll" of the wheel, providing precise navigation within long lists of open tabs. This would significantly improve usability for users who rely on vertical tabs and frequently have many tabs open. So please devs bring on this feature.
And finally a huge Thank you for everything you guys have provided for community all these years of hard-work..

The internet is pretty commonly hierarchical, so it would be nice to make a bookmark folder itself as a bookmark. Then you can add bookmarks under that folder that might be to commonly visited sections of the bookmarked site. A click or some intentional interaction with the folder takes you to the of the link attached to that folder. Common example is a "table of contents". Minimal example: documentation websites. I very often visit linux documentation and man pages as websites, for example the systemd-networkd documentation at freedesktop. I usually want to go to either the .network or .netdev section, so having direct links under a folder for these two makes sense, and then having the folder itself be a bookmark to the systemd-networkd overview page is useful for any other pages I might need only occasionally. This is obviously achievable with a folder and an extra bookmark, so it's just a nice-to-have idea.

What do I mean? There's currently no easy way do disable password saving. And there's no single site I want to save password for. It's pretty annoying to always say 'never' for a site. And when I click 'never', I feel like the domain is saved somewhere, which feels non private.
Same thing for location. There's not a single site I want to share my location with.
I don't want any sites to play sound too, but that is probably another idea.
Thanks.

The "Create Filter From..." command is very useful if you want to create a new filter.
But what if you want to add a rule to an existing filter? Using the same concept?
A proposed "Create Filter Rule From..." option in the same context menu could do the trick. Once selected, the list of existing filters is presented. The user chooses one and the rule is created within that filter. The list of filters can be a displayed as a drop down in the context menu itself. There can also be a "more..." option that opens a filter list window with other options like "Run filter now".
See attached for proposed placement.

Alessandro
Why don't you put a TRANSLATE button in the functions on the bar?
Every time I write an email I have to copy the text, open the translator, paste it on the translator and copy it again to paste it in the email.
Thanks for the great work you do.

In the folder pane, I enabled "Unread folders" to quickly find unread messages. But they remain there after reading them. It would be great to automatically refresh the contents of this view, to work correctly. I can do it only by restarting Thunderbird when too many read folders are shown there.
So, the idea of unread folders is great, but it should auto refresh. Could you do it, please? I searched for an addon for this, but couldn't find any.

Very often I download files from various online sharing systems and clouds, typically SharePoint or file sharing systems or email attachments from online mail clients (GMail). Most of the systems zip selected files and sends them as one zip file. I have to locate the file and extract the files into desired folder. It would be awesome if Firefox would be able to unzip the file after the download and store it as separated files or folders. In this case I can for example download data files for my project directly into the folder of that project on my PC without manually extracting the downloaded zip file.
