Hi everyone! I often use Firefox windows for websites like WhatsApp or Telegram. These websites are not really just “regular websites” but rather full-featured, semi-standalone web applications. It would be incredibly convenient if, for such windows, I could hide (remove) the navigation toolbar with the back/forward buttons and the address bar, so that only the website content remains visible. F11 does something close to what I want, but it switches the window into fullscreen mode. Would it be possible to add a button, menu item, or shortcut (for example, Shift+F11) that hides all browser UI in the window without going fullscreen? ... View more

On previous versions of Firefox from early to late 2010s, they were able to render fonts to unhinted greyscale outlines (DWRITE_RENDERING_MODE1_OUTLINE) when gfx.font_rendering.cleartype_params.rendering_mode is set to 6. Unfortunately, it no longer works since 2019. Please bring back the ability to use unhinted greyscale outlines when the parameter is set to 6, and also add the seventh parameter for gfx.font_rendering.cleartype_params.rendering_mode, in order to allow the ability to render DWRITE_RENDERING_MODE1_NATURAL_SYMMETRIC_DOWNSAMPLED on fonts. When saving messages to disk (or dragging&dropping them) it can be extremely useful to touch the date and time of the saved messages to the date and time of the original email message. This feature allows you to maintain the chronology and properly sort messages also on disk. ... View more

Currently, empty lines at the end of signatures are removed. But these lines may be helpful to add some space between the signature and the quoted email, if the signature is placed above the quoted text. Currently the bookmarks sidebar has an indented tree style view. I think users may want to view bookmarks in typical file directory list style. What I mean is: Only have current level folders & bookmarks visible When navigating into a subfolder, only the contents of that subfolder become visible This exists when using the bookmarks manager pop out window, but I think having this as a viewing option would also be useful in the sidebar. It improved most of the jarring focus changing while organizing tab groups. # Still, there is a bit of unintuitive behavior in this scenario: Have focused tab in active Firefox window A Right click different, unfocused tab in active Firefox window A Send unfocused tab to group in inactive Firefox window B via context menu Tab focus & active window changes to sent tab in Firefox window B # Expected behavior Step 4: Focused tab and active window remains unchanged. Sometimes I visit sites that don't code website links into hyperlink format. I think Firefox having the ability to automatically convert website links not authored this way into hyperlinks.  This way I don't have to copy paste when I run into this issue. ... View more

With RAM prices being ridiculous high at the moment it would be nice to look for other options Many people who have bought more expensive notebooks have dedicated GPUs, but most of the time you are not using this GPU and the VRAM connected to it. There are usually many Gigabytes of VRAM available. It is easy to read and write to VRAM using the OpenCL interface supported by every dedicated GPU. It would be very useful to offload the RAM being used by inactive tabs to VRAM so more RAM becomes available to active processes.   ... View more

Does anyone else increase the size of the Thunderbird window hoping to see more of the email in the message pane? But instead, we just get a longer index of messages. Then have to move the border of the message pane up. I only do this occasionally, often accompanied by moving window to a portrait display (2000px+ tall), when I need to see all (or more of) a message on one page. Frequently enough that it's annoying to have to re apportion the index/message-pane border before and after each time. Yeah, I know I can open in separate tab, but that doesn't work for some use cases: for example: I've done a quick filter and I'm looking for specific content in the body. Using filtered index and message-pane, I can very quickly view the content of each filtered index. When Thunderbird window is enlarged vertically, seems most users would appreciate allocating the space to index/message pane equally, if not 100% to the message pane. ... View more

When new unread mail arrives in a folder, Thunderbird turns the folder-name and unread-mails count to Blue. However, this indication does not survive a restart, so if a folder currently has new unread mail and TB is restarted (or for instance a Windows restart occurs) then the folder remains unmarked. Could the "new unread mail" status be preserved so that the indication is shown when TB restarts? I'd suggest that no "new unread mail" should remain unmarked, "new unread mail from previous sessions" be marked in one colour and "new unread mail in this session" be marked in another. My preferences would be black, turquoise and hot pink for these three states. Others would inevitably disagree, so a simple colour-select facility (possibly via config) would be desirable ... We would like to give users the ability to select the "Prefer hardware accelerated codecs" option in performance browser settings. The idea is simple: Firefox will first select the codecs that are confirmed to be hardware-accelerated for the user's computer. Today, Google YouTube tells browsers to use the AV1 codec with high priority. For some unknown reason, pinned vertical tabs get stacked horizontally only, packed as tightly as possible within the current side bar width. I can get them stacked vertically by reducing the side bar width, thus reducing all tabs to just the icon. There is plenty of room for a couple dozen tabs in that side bar, and users can decide whether display just the icon or also (a part of) the title/URL. Quite often you come across a page that already has a bookmark, but you want to see it within the bookmark folder hierarchy. At the moment this is quite difficult because you have to search through your bookmarks. The most intuitive way would be an option to locate the bookmark inside its folder. Similar to what you can do when searching bookmarks and opening the context menu, but in this case available directly from the bookmark icon next to the URL. --- BTW, when using FF mobile on Android, new bookmarks are always stored to the folder last used in the desktop version, without an option to change that apparently. Hello, since we are now testing about:keyboard to change keyboard shortcuts in firefox, I think it makes sense to save shortcuts to certain bookmarklets so we can quickly execute the bookmarklet.
