Dear Firefox Browser Developers and Supporters, I would like to propose an enhancement to the bookmarking functionality in Firefox. Currently, the BookmarksSeparator is a handy tool for organizing bookmarks, but it lacks one feature that could greatly improve its utility: the ability to add titles. This simple addition would provide several benefits: 1. Allow users to separate bookmarks by project, adding clear titles to each separator for better organization. 2. Facilitate thematic research by marking major categories with titled separators. 3. Enable a quick switch between work and personal bookmarks by using titled dividers for easy identification. 4. Assist in creating a timeline of bookmarks for chronological research by dating separators. 5. Help in categorizing learning resources by level of advancement using titles on separators. While I do not have the expertise to estimate the development costs, I believe the community would greatly appreciate this feature. Could you please consider this suggestion for implementation? Attached is a screenshot demonstrating a feature in the 3D DCC tool, MAYA. There should be a way in Firefox for when making a bookmark to later not show it in the search/address bar suggestions. Currently, there is only a way to disable bookmarks entirely from being shown as suggestions. I made this suggestion a few years ago, but I will offer it again: I make an exported saved copy of my bookmarks every few month (for 26 years), and have many duplicated websites bookmarked spanned across many files.  Add the ability to compile several saved backup bookmark files, consolidate them into one file (checking for 404 file not found and redundancies, then keeping the newest bookmark) to save the new backup bookmark file. Example: backup 1 (2021-05-01) - site A, site C (2021-01-01), site G, site J (404 file not found in current search after backup date) backup 2 (2023-03-05) - site C (2023-02-01), site E, site Z new consolidated backup (2023-03-17):  site A, site C, site E, site G, site Z.  All of which have been scanned, refreshed and updated to be valid websites accessible when consolidation was performed. ... When i sort my bookmarks most of the time the pages form same domain end up in the same folder. So instead of automatically putting the new bookmark in the last folder used, put it in the folder the last bookmark from the same domain went into. If there is no other bookmark from that domain then use either the last folder or a default folder. ... View more

Hello. I would like to use Firefox as my primary browser but i am paranoid about my bookmarks, and i can't trust Firefox with them. Because i had an experience of loosing bookmarks with Firefox (long ago), it was because of some bug and the lost of the bookmarks also synced to the servers and so they were lost. Since then i have been using Chrome as the primary browser. I am not sure how anyone can help me about the trust problem, i do not want any manual or advanced background solution, or an extension solution. But there is a feature suggestion i would like to make that would help me and maybe others. a backup button, that is when clicked saves the current state of bookmarks to the servers as a separate backup that is only overwritten when the button is clicked next time   ... Description: It would be a totally handy addition if you could assign a bookmark to multiple bookmark folders. Assigning to a folder would be similar to how hashtags are currently assigned to bookmarks. Practical example: This would e.g. allow bookmarks to be 'contained' in a folder "A" as well as in a folder "B". Where folder "A" could be included in the bookmarks bar, but "B" could not. Mozilla I've been using Firefox as my main browser for going on 20 years and see no compelling reason to switch to another one. Thanks for making a solid and dependable product. As a full-time researcher,I use the bookmarks editor/save feature extensively for my 84MB of bookmarks. I would like to propose a small change that would benefit me and perhaps others. The current setup is that, if I save a URL to more than one folder, the "Remove Bookmark" command changes to "Remove 2 Bookmarks" (or "Remove x Bookmarks", depending on how many I've created for that URL). The problem is that the bookmark locations are not shown, except for one location up in the "Location" field. Therefore, I don't know the other locations of my saved bookmark. It would be immensely helpful if each bookmark location was listed with a checkbox next to it. That way, I could remove only some of the bookmarks and leave the rest in place. When adding a new bookmark by clicking the star icon, the "Add Bookmark" popup appears,  in the "Location" selectbox, the last used bookmarks folder is selected by default, to choose another bookmarks folder, we need to click the Location selectbox then we click "choose" and the bookmarks folders tree expands, then we select a desired folder. Hi I have a lot of bookmarks with a lot of sub folders and it is really frustating to have to switch the window everytime. I currently have my browser and the bookmark window next to each other in split screen. I would love if you could manage bookmarks in a tab on the current window to make navigation easier.
