Tl;dr: I would love to see Thunderbird (Currently known as K-9 Mail) also being brought to Apple devices.  The term privacy and open source have become well used and something of a reason for many to switch apps/services and even operating systems and devices. But in this day and age on Apple those options are lacking since many are stuck with Apple and having access to a well functioning and well designed e-mail app, with transparent/limited/no data collection from a trusted source is severely lacking since as a user you are basically stuck with the default Mail app, or Canary which seems to be what many recommends (i think because there simply is no better options currently) but in having used K-9 for several years on Android and now that i am currently on Apple i find myself lacking options. But also with Canary moving to offering a more algorithmic and automated approach (it´s called Copilot and is pro/paid option) in handling of e-mail i think this will create a need for options. Personally even the look of the bottom toolbar is a annoyance since 1 icon is dedicated to the Copilot and no option to remove it. At least i cant find one.  So i hope this idea generates some discussion and for others to chime in on this. Give us an auto-PIP option that enables PIP automatically when I change from a tab that is showing a video to another tab. When going back to the original tab and that video source is shown, disable it again. When multiple video sources are available, make it so that the last viewed tab with a source is shown in the auto-PIP. It should also be possible to have multiple PIP instances open (like it is now) but the ones that are enabled manually should also be disabled manually. ... View more

BACKGROUND GNOME is the most popular Desktop Environment for Linux. GTK4 is the toolkit used by GNOME to create graphical applications and widgets. Libwaita is a GTK4 library that helps developers create responsive and mobile friendly applications. SOLUTION I propose a new browser called: Firefox-GTK. A collaborative project between Mozilla and the GNOME Foundation. It would be the same Firefox we love and enjoy, but tailored for the GNOME Desktop. If Firefox and GNOME Web had a baby, it would be Firefox-GTK. WIIFM  A more aesthetic Firefox Browser for GNOME users (GNOME is the default DE for Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, RHEL, EndlessOS, SUSE, among others). Firefox will take full advantage of GTK4 with a fully responsive application that could adapt to any screen, with better touchscreen and touchpad gestures. Better Integration with the desktop and other GTK4 Applications, and other GNOME APIs CONCLUSION I am 100% positive that GNOME will become a real contender against Apple and Google in the mobile space. When Mozilla released Firefox OS, the timing wasn't right. But now we have powerful PWAs, and Mozilla doesn't have to reinvent the wheel. Currently I'm doing research on a heap of products, and collating into an online spreadsheet. I'm wearing out the Ctrl+Tab keys flicking back and forth, copying/pasting etc! It would be awesome to "pop-out" a tab and have it "float" on top like what Picture-in-Picture does. I know you can the tab in a new window, resize it, move it etc but it still doesn't stick on-top and has borders that take up space. I've seen extensions that try to do split screen for tabs but they don't seem to work very well. Thanks! ... View more

I think it would be helpful if it was possible to add custom fields (or a textarea for notes) to stored passwords to securely store additional information (like security questions, customer support pins, etc.) Additionally it would be nice to be able to store and sync other credentials and information in Firefox, that don't link to websites, like (recovery-)keys for BitLocker/TrueCrypt/LUKS-LVM partitions, WiFi Passwords and Credit Cards. This feature was great, and one of the reasons why I stayed with Firefox when I tried it. From stopping accidental downloads to avoiding malware, being able to choose to keep a download instead of automatically putting it on my device was really helpful, so I suggest adding a toggle(alongside the options for individual files) to choose between asking for all files or auto-downloading. Make tabs visually distinguishable from another (as they once were) Lately I can't visually tell where one tab begins and the next begins, except by referencing the "X" (close tab) buttom, since it's all white text on a black background.  How about making them look like actual tabs again or alternating the colors or something?    The visual appearance should follow the function. Being able to distinguish one tab from another is a functional issue. Compare the attached screenshot (old vs new appearances).  The old way is clearly superior from a functional perspective. Story 1: I am one of the legion of people with dozens of tabs open on device A that I would love to read or otherwise process (read it, fill in the form, finally buy the shirt ...). They aren't worth bookmarking but I have to get to them someday. Later, while device B is in front of me, I have some time to process tabs. Using Firefox sync, I open a few of the tabs on A and do what I need to do. I am now done with these tabs, they no longer spark joy, and I can finally remove some clutter in the list of synced tabs and on device A. Story 2: Device A is a work computer where some tabs are useful only at work, but a dozen of them are shopping tabs I was browsing while on company time. I have time to finally pick a shirt and buy it at home, but the clutter of work-related tabs makes it hard to find the shopping tabs. I never want to see the work tabs on the computer at home--they're more clutter and some I can't even access outside of the work network--but I don't want to turn off sync entirely. Solution: First, allow me to remove items from the list of tabs hosted on device A displayed in the list of tabs on device B. For example, right-click on the tab in the list of synced tabs and select 'hide tab on this device'. Second, just as we can push an "open tab" request from one device to another, use the proposed right-click menu to push a "close tab" request. When I get back to device A at work tomorrow, I can accept the close tab requests, one at a time or all at once. Alternatively, I have an "open tab" option, but also a "steal tab" option. Hey Please give us a option disable opening pdf in mozilla thunderbird directly or option to choose which program will open them. Implemented reader is slow. There is often problem with opening pdf files - last very long to open files and if there is more pages program open them very slow - way slower than standard program. I use my bookmarks toolbar as a quick access for a lot of my links - on the left, i have the websites i browse every day, and then i have a bunch of folders in which i have all the other websites, organized by category (news, social networks, etc.). While it's possible to give whatever name to the folders (including emojis), I wondered if it was possible to replace the folder icon by a customizable emoji - this would allow to put the newspaper emoji for the news folder, for example. It would also allow to only have an emoji (and no text nor folder icon) in order to gain space on the bookmarks toolbar. In Firefox Android, I often have multiple tabs open. When I scroll up and down to navigate through the tabs, I sometimes accidentally close a tab. Probably because I was swiping diagonally up. I have a few seconds to click the undo button that pops up. I've never intentionally used this gesture since I click the x button to close a tab.
