2024 Call Center Scam Losses In 2024, victims lost an estimated $1.9 billion to call center scams, primarily involving fake tech support and cryptocurrency fraud.   A Common Scam Tactic If you've watched scam baiters on platforms like YouTube, or observed scammers in action, one trick stands out: they frequently misuse the browser's inspect element tool to alter numbers, words, or other on-screen details in real time, fooling victims into believing false information (e.g., fake bank balances or error messages).   My Proposed Solution This led me to an idea: What if the inspect functionality were separated into a standalone program, rather than being built into web browsers? This would make it much harder for scammers especially those being baited during phone calls to quickly edit page elements and deceive people.   Why This Matters I believe this change could significantly disrupt these tactics and protect more victims. I love working on my PC and then picking up my phone later to continue from where I left off. However, sometimes the bookmarks don’t sync right away between my computer and phone, so it would be very helpful to have an easy-to-see button on both devices. My suggestion is for an enhancement to the browser that is similar to a bookmark. The difference is that a "breadcrumb" (my temporary name for this new feature) also records the history associated with the tab being recorded. When you click on a bookmark you go to the bookmarked url. If you then click the Back button, you go to the previous url *in your current session*. When you click on a "breadcrumb" you go to the bookmarked url. If you then click the Back button, you go to the previous url *in your bookmarked session*. The length of History associated with the breadcrumb could be a specific number of "back clicks", or could be set by the user (eg 1, 5, 10 ,all) (Where "all" records the full history associated with the tab you are breadcrumbing - from when the tab is opened to the point where you breadcrumb it), or could be dynamic and selected at the point where you create the breadcrumb (eg I breadcrumb the tab and select a number of "back clicks" that I want to record, at the time of breadcrumbing). ... Having the ability to unload tabs is great, but it would be cool if there was a setting that would auto-unload tabs after a certain amount of inactive time (one that the user could set, with a default of maybe an hour?). Hi all, I love Thunderbird and I've been using it since 2003 on my computer. I was so happy to find out it is now available for Android (and improving so fast!). My feature request is better star/flag management. There is no folder containing started email in the overview, they just appear on top. Gmail app and the default Apple Mail app for example have their own folder containing this. Also I would like to have the option to give it multiple colors of star, so e.g. red is for packages, blue is for important, yellow for bookings etc etc. Let me know! ... View more
