It would be helpful if a negation feature — or something functionally similar — were implemented for bookmark searches such that, if one had a bookmark or series of bookmarks that they didn't want included among their search results, they had the option to search for such. For example, given bookmarks: not-in-english, pre-19th-century, owned, one could enter something like !not-in-english, !pre-19th-century, !owned to yield all bookmarks not containing any of the three.

I was wondering if it would be possible to search received mail by sorting selected dates as if you need to select only the mail you received in on specific day. That would be awesome!

The website URL is highlighted upon tapping, but not default search engine queries. It's troublesome to have to manually delete the text to enter a URL or new query. Having it automatically highlighted won't hinder editing so not sure why this isn't already the case.

When clicking on 'List all tabs', it takes another click (on 'Search tabs') to then search through your tabs by typing. I would prefer not to click on 'Search tabs', but instead typing immediately activates the search. This would be very beneficial to people like me who have large numbers of tabs open and want to quickly find the tab they're looking for. Chrome has this feature.

a string with currency symbols (special or abbvs) and numbers gets into the search string. site recognizes this and answers either with its own conversion into $ (depends on settings..) or with usual list of sites specializes on such conversions but with the proper data already filled in their fields and (nb!) instantly visible in the list of the search results.
generally this way may be fitted for other qiuck daily data as well 😉
thanx, with hopes and best wishes ))

Relating to this news: https://www.cnbc.com/2023/11/02/jeff-bezos-urged-amazon-to-flood-search-results-with-junk-ads-ftc.html
I would love it if Fakespot could iterate all of the search results across multiple pages, and then RE-filter and RE-sort according to the user's actual intent, not Amazon's user-abusive intent.
This would include purging promoted items and items that clearly do not fit the user's search criteria. This would also allow for sorting by "lowest cost" without being inundated by non-relevant junk search results.
Being able to successfully perform a search with a subtractive search term for example "wind up toy -chime" to search for WIND up toys but not WIND chimes.

I have a new idea that can transform web browser which can implement near real time client web browser webhooks and also with more advanced on-device caching functionality and that they can reduce stress on CDNs and web servers that this move makes more environment friendly browser with reducing carbon emissions.

When attempting to add a custom search engine in Firefox Android with the inclusion of a ":" character in the query portion of the URL, the following error message occurs:
Error connecting to "[UserInputtedSearchEngineName]"
The problem can only be remedied by replacing any inclusion of the ":" character with "%3A", which is the HTML URL Encoded version of the character.
The same behavior does not occur when adding a custom search engine in the desktop version of Firefox or Chrome, patching the behavior would aid in the usability of the Firefox Android browser.

Windows 10 TB 115.2.0
In the new TB 115 top search field, the left/right arrow keys don’t work any more. I think it would be helpful if this option from earlier versions could be added again to move through an e-mail-address or a text with the keyboard and correct typos or delete words.
Thanks! Christian Wolkersdorfer

In previous versions of Firefox, if I wanted to use the default search engine to search a particular word present in the current page, I could just select the word and press the left mouse button and then drag it a bit before releasing the left mouse button, then the search results would pop up in a new tab.
It seems that the above feature has been removed after the recent update, hopefully it will be added back to the browser or as a feature that can be switched on and off manually.

Hello,
To help easily cleaning up the inbox from deprecated messages, I mean not junk ones but those which are no longer relevant, probably because more recent emails have been received, and reduce the environmental impact of storing useless emails, I'd suggest to add a "filter for similar" as button or context menu item. So, whenever you receive a new email, you can take this opportunity to easily filter then delete the deprecated ones from the same sender.
Today I fill up the quick filter manually but I think that a button is handier.

Up until a recent update I was able to quickly select search suggestion results by repeatedly pressing the tab key which is easier to use than the down arrow key which is smaller and out of the way on most keyboards. However there is now a focusable context menu (ellipsis) button on each suggestion. This means I have to press the tab key twice to skip over a given result. To enable quicker navigation for power users there should be an option to hide this button and potentially also enable accessing this menu via a right click

With Notepad++, for instance, I can look for a text in current tab / all opened tabs / etc ...
Why not such a search in a browser ?

I propose being able to quickly change the default search engine straight from the url/search bar.
I felt like changing my default search engine today, since my usual was annoying me lately. I expected I could right click one one of the search engine options at the bottom of the search dropdown, and select to set it as the default from a context menu option, but I couldn't do that. I think I'd like to be able to.

If You have lots of tabs open on one device and wish to acc3ss them on another you must scroll through all open tabs in the sync tab in android. If they could be searched it would be far more useful.

I work for a library and it would be great if firefox had a built in safe search like other browsers. We need to be able to block people from looking up inappropriate images via browser searches & firefox is the only browser we have that doesn't appear to have it where we can turn something like that on via group policy. Am I missing it?

Please add the ability to show search suggestions with any search engine on Android. I use Neeva as my primary search engine and on desktop I was able to add the Neeva search extension and get search suggestions in the address bar when searching, but this is not possible on Android. The lack of this feature on Android is the only thing keeping me from fully switching to Firefox as my default browser. I'll be sticking with Opera until this feature is added.

Small suggestion 🙂 It would be good if it could search the bookmarks in the Firefox bar at the top right of the brackets, right-clicking.
At the moment, this is only possible under Manage Bookmarks to search the bookmarks.

My idea is to add a Eydropper button next to "Find in page".
Click to select the color
Then the colors in the page other than the selected color will become less visible.
These pictures were mainly edited with Microsoft Paint so they don't look very good.
