High fives all around—built-in translations was delivered in Firefox 118.

Check out the Release Notes for more details and be sure to try out the feature. Thanks again for your important role in making this happen 💪 we look forward to continuing to collaborate with you all here on Mozilla Connect, including suggesting and voting for additional languages to be supported!

Not work for me. Windows 11 22h2 don't show nothing (tranlation option). Why?

It doesn't matter if it's a plugin or native, Firefox should have full webpage translation options on demand. "Copy and paste" into Google Translate is a pathetic solution. Every other browser has something native, let alone plugins. It's not an issue in Opera, Vivaldi, Brave, or Yandex. The latter has a translator that is far better than Google's, btw. It's more than a year since this function has been requested. We support Firefox for technology diversity and options, but if you cannot provide a simple translate function... what's the point?

The new beta translation is a great feature, and I can't wait for more languages to be added.

I wonder if it's in the roadmap to give an API so web developers could use the translation feature in Javascript. I'd love to be able to give users a choice to translate foreign texts to their languages and not use a 3rd party API like Google Translate. Maybe that could become part of a Web Standard ? (doubtful about that, but one can dream 🙂 )

Add translation, such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge

I hope that translation will be added to the browser, such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. I have been waiting for this for a long time

For Android, there is no translation. As for the computer, there is no translation into Arabic. I hope that a translation into Arabic will be added soon.

And there's also a thread for Arabic translations:

the only reason why I’m installing google chrome on my iPad is for its translation function. I don’t want to install so many browser on one device, so please make a select to translate function.

I recently realized the "TWP - Translate Web Pages" Firefox extension was causing an audio bug w/ Firefox, but the functionality of it is the best replication of the Chrome translate page feature. I think Firefox is long overdue for a solid native translation feature.

@diligationx12 a native translation feature was delivered in Firefox 118 (see Release Notes here) and we're still working on supporting more languages - is there a particular language you're looking for?
