Wish the Firefox browser had its own translation instead of having to download a plugin.

I do not agree. Machine translation will work for European languages, but not for others.

Instead of having this built-in ... i would rather see the appropriate web-ext API  extended to be able to fill the required need.  -

They are working on making offline translation possible - here's an article from May 2021: https://www.ghacks.net/2021/05/29/mozilla-integrates-firefox-translations-into-firefox/

The GitHub repo is still being worked on and you can find installation instructions to test it here: https://github.com/mozilla/firefox-translations

PAGE TRANSLATE as part of the browser/menu

On the right = there should be a translate page added to the menu.

If Mozilla wanna do it in the best way they should do a partnership with DeepL which is by FAR the best translating engine. It can understand the difference between a sentence on informal or formal dutch, can translate correctly a sentence using tuteo/voseo/ustedeo in spanish, and also can see not only the difference between British english and American english. In case of American english it can translate more efficiently some subtle words in sentences like "ain't" and "isn't".

DeepL makes every sentence sound human and not translated by a machine. Taking this approach can make some people move from Chrome to Firefox. Mostly spanish speakers were Google makes too much mistakes translating and sentences sometimes don't make any sense.

please integrate Firefox with Google Translate or any other good translation services because we have to rely on Add-ons for that and they can track us.

and talking about Emojis please do the same for this

Hope you will like my idea...

Making moves

I'll glad to see built-in translation in Firefox, but I think it will cost some resources both user and development side, and will be redundant because there's translation service provided already via OSs, apps, browser extensions.

Hello,

We are currently testing (foxfooding 😁) Firefox Translations.

This web extension translates web pages directly in Firefox and protects your privacy!

This is the campaign page with all the information on how to help us test. If you need help or want to chat with other participants, you can join the #foxfooding channel in Matrix

Excelente opción seria que traduzca nativamente, solamente activando desde un botón, o desde el menú contextual
