I'd like to request support for adding comments (sticky notes) anywhere in PDF files.

At the moment, comments can only be added by first highlighting existing text and attaching a comment to that selection. This isn't suitable when you want to leave a note about a diagram, image, blank area, or simply provide general feedback that isn't tied to specific text.

It would be very useful to be able to place standalone sticky notes anywhere on a PDF page, similar to how this feature works in for example Adobe Acrobat. The comment could be displayed as the same note icon that is currently used for text comments, but without any highlighted text associated with it.

You can also add comments by highlighting e.g. an image, and then attaching a comment to that highlight.

We decided not to support sticky notes because they are very problematic for accessibility (e.g. a user who uses screen reader technology won't be able to understand what a sticky note refers to, because it could be anywhere on the page and they have no way to tell what the note is close to).
