Please revert the Android UI changes!

There are so many issues with the new UI.

  1. The background in Private mode is way too similar to the non-private background, at least with the dark theme. Half the time I don't know if I'm in private mode or not.
  2. Why is the "inactive tabs" menu open by default now? This is just annoying. Also, the new design makes it seem like all my active tabs are inactive (the "^ vs v" visual is bad)
  3. The new menu is a mess
    1. It is too wide. Previously, the "back" and "forward" buttons were located near the button that the menu, and were easy to press. Now "Back" is on the other side of the screen, which is really annoying with large phones.
    2. Previously I could click the "menu" button again to close it, now I need to perform a different interaction (which always involves moving my fingers to a different location) which is less usable.
    3. "Open in app" (as well as many other interactions) is now hidden behind a "more" submenu. I don't want this extra interaction.
    4. A short swipe up or down on the new menu closes it. The distinction between click, drag, and long-drag does not seem well handled and makes it accidentally close.
    5. This is even worse with the "more" submenu. When looking for a menu item, I find myself closing it by accident more often than not. This is because dragging it down is all too likely to close it, and I don't know what all the menu items are. So I open the menu, click "more", drag around, the menu closes, and I need to start over. But when I do - I need to click "more" again! It is highly confusing.
  4. The new address bar is bad. It has larger or larger spaced icons, and leaves almost no room for the address itself! Also - I don't want that customizable button, I want to hide it!

Please, please undo it.

I 100% second this. Why tf do devs so often insist on "fixing" whats not broken?

Trying this one may help, on mine dosent exist so i created one, now reboot the device and see for my self, maybe this will work

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/963874

about:config into the address bar, search for the preference named

browser.chrome.dynamictoolbar & change its value to false

It's horrible. Dead space, a menu that's not a menu but a drawn over window like an Apple device (again, horrible), hidden menu items i.e. things I want to find in the menu dots (the first thing i disable in windows 11). The ensh*tiffication of the world is very much upon us. I thought Mozilla was immune.

Weirdly I just got it back to normal by turning off everything in Data Collection? Something about install and run Studies? If that's what the future holds it'd drive me away from Firefox Android for the first time ever

You are a lifesaver for this menu revision. I credited you in a different thread for other people who have this same issue with the new menu look.

I stoped using firefox and firefox beta they are uninstaled, (fork Iceraven is great and have no telemetry) and fennec and waterfox is as bad as the original firefox with the crappy and unwanted bad ui redesign, or stop updating on 148.0 and is done, no stinks i will not use it (-_-)

I can only agree and the waste of space for the new "enhanced" tab manager is horrible. before I could almost see the preview for 8 tabs, now 4 barely fit on my screen.
There is dead space everywhere and I cannot only use my thumb anymore.

It's very frustrating having the menu appear in a different location than the button used to access it. It's annoying enough on a phone screen, when it's relatively nearby, and I can only imagine it's far worse on a tablet or devices with larger screens. It feels like it violates a basic UI principle, or at least user expectations.

Please put the menu back under the menu button.

Also agree on there being too much white space. The address bar is tiny now and can only display part of the domain name. That's bad for security - much harder to check if you're on the right website.

here's how to disable it

1. go to settings, about Firefox, then click the Firefox logo 5 times to activate debug settings

2. go back to the settings menu and then scroll down and you should see the secret settings menu

3. inside the secret settings menu, toggle these four options off

Enable Composable Toolbar
Enable Redesigned Toolbar Options
Enable Toolbar Customization
Enable Tab Manager enhancements

Then go back and everything should be back to how it was. If it doesn't close or force stop the app and reopen it.

Lifesaver. It came back again today after an update. Genuinely hateful UI changes.

So I'm still on v148.0.1 and turned off auto updates because I know this fix works for this version. Can anyone confirm this fix still works after version 148.0.1?

I stoped using firefox and firefox beta they are uninstaled, (fork Iceraven is great and have no telemetry)

NO to the original firefox with the crappy and unwanted bad ui redesign, just stop updating on 148.0 and is done it stinks i will not use it (-_-)

I turned all of those off, but don't see the tab manager option. No change unfortunately, and I'm still stuck with the awful new UI

They say you will like it and you will like it, i say go sit on camp fire and you will like it you will like it.

Had to make an account for feedback. This new UI update is clunky and hard to use, everything is hidden now (Open in app) and takes way too much click as previous UI.

Can we atleast get an option to revert back to old UI for those who prefer it?

Mozila loves telemetry all the users asking to revert to the old ui (you now the normal one) is to suck telemetry from suckers like me. 0 stars another guy fired from google trying to turn firefox in to chrome, give a fix to this already (-_-)

In my opinion, the 'More' submenu and the 'Open in App' feature aren't problematic at all. It’s actually a matter of habit; personally, I like it and have gotten used to it. Moreover, I really like the new design of the URL bar—it's a big plus for me.

I appreciate the new UI, but I find it a bit confusing and harder to use. Private mode isn’t clear, menus can close unexpectedly, and some buttons and the address bar are less convenient. It would be great if these could be improved or if the previous design could remain an option.
