I'd like to try Cards View, but your instructions don't match my Thunderbird, version 102.15.1 for Linux.
My message headers are visible (Subject, Correspondents, Date, etc. - is that what you mean?) but there is no Message List Display Options button beside the Quick Filter button.
View -> Layout does not contain Message List Header. The only message-related item is Message Pane.
I understand the trash can icon was added to Table view after a suggestion. I'd like the same to be added to Cards view. It allows a user to delete an email without opening it. The only other way is to right-click and choose delete from the context menu which is a two-step process.
Another vote for a trash icon on cards view that deletes all selected emails (not just the one, as in table view). This is probably one of the few features that I miss from Outlook that makes the software much more useable.
I also would appreciate same functionality as in Table View. Especially missing the Junk icon as I can directly click it without having the mail loading in preview pane.
Delete and Read/Unread toggle buttons in table view are perhaps the two things in Thunderbird I click the most. Removing them from card view is a regression in UX.
