Can we have the opportunity to add a wallpaper in the new tab view? Like chrome or edge, that you can upload a picture and use it as a background in the new tab.

We are the end user. It shouldn't be done this way. Mozilla should bring this feature to us.

Additionally, the shortcut boxes on the homepage should be made transparent or have a blurry frame feature.

This looks interesting! Could you please fix this for your browser. So I think many people would have been happy. There would have been many different alternatives, of images to download to your browser. As I mentioned before, nature pictures and that. And art, and everything possible. You know what I mean.. And then you could add your own too.

I can't help but agree with you! 🙂 It's something that Mozilla, should arrange for us users. I think so too.. It would have been so much prettier. If they had been..

Hey all,

Happy to officially update the status of this feature to 'In development'  🙌

If you haven't seen it yet, the Firefox team recently added a post 'Here's what we're working on in Firefox' here on Connect about some of the exciting features currently in the works — including new tab wallpapers!

A big thanks again to all of you for your feedback and insights, they really have played an important role in pushing a lot of this work forward.

So please feel free to keep the conversation going and stay tuned for more updates.

Jon, that's good, but will there be an option to set my own wallpaper on the new tab?

There is a great lack of the ability to add your own wallpapers as well. I understand that the firefox logo may not always be visible in different wallpapers. Is it really impossible to find a solution to this problem and provide users with this feature?

@FlappersYou can change both light/dark theme colors of new tabs using Adaptive tab color extension. There are options for it, if you look into it's settings.
