Add official support to casting to an Android or Apple TV, right now you have to use sketchy extension, it's not a good user experience.

I moved to Firefox from another browser and now I see I can't cast my screen to chromecast? Come on guys, you have a great application here and not having this feature does not suite you!

With the influx of people switching from Chrome with the recent MV3/uBlock/extensions deprecation now would be an ideal time for this to get resolved! I'm likely gonna be switching over myself soon, but I use casting a lot to play media on my TV or Nest Hubs and Firefox lacking the support for that is gonna hinder the transition a lot.

VLC can even do casting lol, Firefox gaining support would ease the jump for a lot of people migrating rn.

There are quite a few people across the internet that agree this would make Firefox the best browser. I have seen this discussion for some years now, and not a single word from Mozilla on why this can/'t be done. Just disrespectful imo. Hopefully we get it because the rest of the product i really good.

+1 for urgently looking into this. Almost every single other browser/app supports this. Either Cast or Airplay I don't care which one. Even Orion (small project browser in beta) supports this functionality. This is the only reason I keep having to switch back and forth between Firefox and Safari/Orion. If Firefox supported Casting or Airplay I would ditch every other browser and never look back

I'm not able to use firefox as my main browser until this is fixed, or an easy, reliable add on is available.

Casting support would be very welcome.

I want to bring Matter Casting to the attention of the Firefox team and users.

Matter is a free and open smart home standard jointly developed and supported by all the big tech companies as an interoperable alternative to proprietary standards. Matter has a casting feature built-in. Amazon is using it for the new Fire TVs for example.

Matter is just starting to gain momentum in the smart home market and Matter Casting is even more niche for now. That might change though, so I think it's good to have this on your radar.

i switched from chrome to firefox, and after noticing the missing casting i'm tempted to switch back.

Similar to others -- In a market where users are currently wanting to switch away from Chrome, Firefox  needs to support this to have feature parity. Please consider adding it.

This feature really needs to be implemented to some degree. Its a shame I can't cast from my desktop to a TV. If anything needs to be an official firefox extension. I would say keep liking this feature and commenting to increase attention

I agree. It's a important missing feature that makes me still need Chrome not far away.

Still missing

Would love to see that coming to Firefox. Chrome can also cast the entire screen (I means outside of chrome, the whole screen) which is cool and very useful.
