Firefox is my default PDF viewer. It has all the features I wanted except the 'sticky notes' or 'comments' option. For adding sticky notes, I have to open the PDF again in Edge. But Firefox can view sticky notes. So, I think it would be even more productive if there is a sticky notes option in Firefox PDF viewer.

Comments on PDFs is highly important, especially when reading books or papers or such. Splitting merging is also relevant but I feel that both of them should be looked at. Do we have any updates on this?

We started working on this, and we hope to finish by Firefox 144.

The feature is available in Nightly, there are still bugs but it is close to ready.

Hello! I'm the product manager for Firefox's PDF Editor/Viewer. I'm delighted to share that as of Release 145, users can now add, edit, delete, and manage comments! We've also created a comment sidebar to help you scan all your comments and jump to the one you need. You can learn more here. (Note: Firefox releases roll out in stages to our users, usually over ~48 hours; if 145 isn't available for you yet, it should be no later than tomorrow.)

To help us build this first version of the PDF Comments feature, we've done user research and testing -- including with Fable experts, and now we'd love to hear from you. Some prompts to help you get started: What do you like about Comments? What would you change? What surprised you? What else would you like us to know?

Thank you for suggesting this feature, and thank you for continuing to help us improve Firefox!

Good news...

This was delivered in Firefox 145—see @KimB's recent comment in the thread for more details. And of course, try it out and let us know what you think 😃

I completely agree with this. Firefox’s PDF viewer is already fast and convenient, but the lack of a sticky notes or comments tool makes the workflow incomplete. Since Firefox can display existing notes, having the ability to add or edit sticky notes directly would make the viewer much more practical for studying, reviewing documents, and everyday work. Would love to see this feature added in future updates, definitely a productivity booster.
