i have switched from chrome since past 1 month and firefox is just better. the only thing i did not find easy is the option for having multiple profiles to be used at ease, could be better if there was one to easily access seperate profiles for work and home

All we really need at minimum is a way to switch between profiles from any website in the toolbar. It doesn't need to be incredibly comprehensive.

More comprehensive features could come in later updates. Right now the inability to switch profiles from the toolbar or settings menu makes it incredibly inconvenient.

@77martians @fire900s @Xol @Ere @80 @Hello there!

I know it sucks but don't sweet it, i definitely wont use any other browser than Mozilla so i will suggest you all to do as me, use a different version/profile ej.

Profile A: Firefox | Profile B: Nightly | Profile C: Developer | Profile 😧 Focus | Profile E: WaterFox | Profile F: LibreFox

i spoke with Laura Chambers, CEO of Mozilla just before Christmas who has told me this regarding Profiles and Switching.

"We are just working through our 2025 roadmap as we speak, and I know the teams are testing out profiles in 2025. I hear you - it's an important feature.
We also have just hired a new head of Firefox, and I forwarded your message to him. He's excited to have the team engage more on forums and chats ... we are putting some extra resources and priorities on that in the new year also."
So here's hoping in the very near future we will have out profiles!

"working though our 2025 roadmap..."

How is Profiles Switching not at the top of the list of the Firefox road map?

Exciting update...

The new profile management feature is now available to try out in the current version of Firefox Nightly — the feature is turned on by default. If you want to see a video demo and hear directly from the team working on profiles, check out this recent post on Connect:

Try out Firefox Profiles in Nightly

Check it out and let us know what you think!

Thank YOU guys, @Jon a straight link to it wouldn't hurt, it will be really appreciated instead Get our NEW Firefox Nightly with Profiles and i wanted to share my experience because i found a little bug 🤖 First it opened with a (default profile(NO NAME)) so i created one, and when tried to sign in to synchronize my data it said that i was already using that account in another profile, (But while selected it didn't specified a name, so i tried to name it but it couldn't because i had already created a profile with that name so i had to delete the one i had just created waited 1 minute and renamed the default profile as i wanted and then it worked just fine, one suggestion, Once you get into the PROFILES options it should create an external link in the Applications folder like it was known and specified in the extensive explanation we were all used to JUST TO MAKE IT SIMPLER, just saying.

Start the Profile Manager when Firefox is closed

  1. If Firefox is open, close Firefox: Click the Firefox menu at the top of the screen and select Quit Firefox.
  2. Using Finder, navigate to /Applications/Utilities.
  3. Open the Terminal application.
  4. In the Terminal application, enter the following:
    /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox -P
Note: If your Firefox application is in a location other than /Applications/Firefox.app/, adjust the entry.

Out of that, THANKS AGAIN for listening and making it happen. cheers 🤗
