I don't know why no email app seems to have this function because I think it would be a killer. My inbox is a bit like a to-do list: emails that are unread I need to read, and emails that I have read but need to do something with stay in the inbox, otherwise they're archived. If I look at an email and immediately know that I don't need to read the rest of it or do anything more with it, I want to mark it read and archive it. Particularly in a notification, but also in the inbox view if I can tell just from the sender / subject. I would really like these two actions to be combined into one, especially as an option available from the notification, so I don't need to open the app at all! As it is I can mark an email read, then I have to go in and archive it later, or I can archive it, then I have an unread count on the archive folder that I need to deal with. This would, I hope, be an easy addition with a big plus for efficiency!
