Hello all!

I would like to propose an enhancement for Firefox that allows users to authenticate and sign PDF documents using the imported digital certificates stored in the certificate manager, specifically the ones stored under the 'Your Certificates" tab.

Proposed Features:

  1. Digital Signature Authentication: Enable users to authenticate digital signatures in PDF documents using the existing digital certificates found in the Firefox certificate manager.

  2. Document Signing Capability: Introduce functionality that allows users to cryptographically sign PDF documents using the digital certificates available in the certificate manager; note, this is different from adding a picture or drawing your signature.

  3. Visual Signature Stamp: Provide an option for users to place and display a visual stamp in the PDF file that details the information of the signature, such as the signer's name, issuing organization, signature date, and any other relevant information.

I have uploaded an image of the stamp used by the Adobe Acrobat product as an example of what I mean.

Thanks!
