Hello, some extensions do not have an icon in the icon bar, they just show up in the context menu, or they just alter a website, without having an icon. They appear as grayed-out in the extension list when the "puzzle" icon is clicked.

This gives a false impression of them not being active, or that there is some issue with them. I would like to suggest that it is made clearer to the user WHY they are grayed out, e.g. by adding info in tool tip "This extension is working but does not have an icon. That's why it's grayed out." Or don't gray it out and instead show "NO ICON" or sth like that. I spent an hour traying to "fix" this "problem" that did not exist in the first place... There are also many reports on "grayed out" extentions and how to "fix" this (corruption as a reason etc), resulting in users spending hours to reinstall everything. Please make this more user-friendly and less confusing.

Thanks. I don't think people will vote for this because once they know the problem, there's not reasons to be informed about it any more.

In that sense I posted this comment having developers in mind who might be able to fix this in a few minutes by e.g. just adding "extension does not have an icon" in some place (at the extension configuration page for the extension in question, and/or in the list of extensions in the "puzzle-symbol" (extension) menu. I can probably be improved extremely fast.

I personally don't need any fix because I found out what's going on. I just wanted to help so FF is easiert to use/understand. 🙂
