The Multi-Account Containers extension is a very useful addon as it prevents websites from accessing all your browsing data by limiting it inside containers. I love this so much as it enhances the privacy. For example, I keep all meta related websites like facebook, instagram in a seperate container. So the only data they can access is between their own websites and not the rest of my browsing habits.

TLDR: Please bring this extension for Android!

If easy and intuitive to use---this would mark Firefox Mobile as the MOST recommendable search engine I know of.  It is already---in many ways---but this, I believe, would make Firefox TOO outstanding NOT to recommend.  It's rise to proactively recommend-worthy.

Would love to see this implemented on android! I enjoy the peace of mind it helps provide on desktop so why not enjoy that on mobile?

Just stopped by to comment

"Please, make this available for Firefox on Android!"

Essentially, separate several log-ins on container basis, but still sync across devices using the same Firefox account.

Add my vote to incorporate this feature into FF for Android.

I tried to force this with using a custom mobile add-on collection (developer settings), unfortunately no dice. Then I found this suggestion, and well, I'd love to see this added too!

Facebook container is a must that I use all the time on desktop.

I'm currently using my work profile on android as an alternative.

Thanks all for your votes and feedback - as always, keep it coming. The more details the better - it helps us understand the why a bit better. But I wanted to jump in and say that I'm surfacing this to our teams to 1) let them know it continues to see a lot of activity, and 2) to see if there are any updates we can share from our end.

Firefox is the only browser that is not a (bad) chrome clone. Everything else is just forced to follow what google wants and the web gets worse everyday because of that. The Chrome plague is the new Internet Explorer plague, that Firefox and Mozilla fought for so many years.

On desktop, Firefox is unbeatable and everyone saying otherwise is either dishonest or dumb (it's the reality). I understand there are people using it because they're forced to, because google does what microsoft did back in the day with IE: does not follow standards and abuses of dominant position, by making sites depending on their google integrations slower, by forcing non chrome users with excessive recaptchas, and by making chrome render some things differently from what is supposed to be so that web developers need to resort to hacks that only work on chromium and break things on firefox - divide and conquer, because with time, a significant number will begin to just care to support the engine with most users and forget about the rest.

This needs to change, and by making Firefox on mobile (at least where possible - Android - because apple abuses its dominant position on IOS, but that's another matter) more compelling, it is the way to fight the chrome clones and all the evil associated with them, because more people will eventually discover the advantages of Firefox on desktop too and (hopefully) start balancing things again and end google monopoly on browser front.

On mobile, Firefox is already distinguishing itself by allowing extensions natively, while chrome doesn't and google tries their hardest for the clones not to support them either; its clones that partially support them have to resort to terrible hacks, always sabotaged by google, and they'll always be terrible alternatives. Still, a unconscious majority still use chrome or its clones, mostly because chrome is forced to them by google on most android phones.

If Firefox wants to prove everyone that it is THE definitive alternative, Mozilla should not focus on forcing AI slop and other fads. They should instead focus on what the community is asking them, beginning with WHAT WE'RE ASKING IN THIS THREAD, THAT HAS 6 PAGES OF PEOPLE ASKING FOR SOMETHING FOR 3 YEARS ALREADY, THAT EXISTS ON DESKTOP FOR QUITE A WHILE AND, FRANKLY, THERE'S HARDLY AN ACCEPTABLE TECHNICAL LIMITATION FOR IT NOT TO BE POSSIBLE BESIDES THE FACT THAT MOZILLA ISN'T GETTING THEIR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT (sorry for the caps, I was using a sloppy chrome browser when I wrote that and it was misbehaving as usual, but in the meantime I'll use a good ol' gecko browser for the remaining message).

Really, Mozilla and Firefox team: your loyal community is what holds you. Not giving them top priority, and instead focusing on some corporate mentality and chase slop trends will be your downfall, and the web in general as well. You're our only hope. Bring multi-account containers to Firefox on Android as soon as possible.

(and sorry for the rant, that I'm positive really few people, if any, will bother reading)

@Jon The biggest why here, to be able to separate entities by category inside one all-powerful browser on a mobile device, yet synced across devices. Limit tracking, strengthen privacy.

@araujorm well said, friend. Actually, Firefox IS the de-facto definitive alternative, only that it's at a much weaker position.
