After using the quick filter, when you cancel it, the inbox should resort by the preferred sort order previously set up.
Currently, when you cancel the quick filter, the full inbox shows sorted by whatever the quick filter sort was. For example if I search "smith" under sender, it shows all the "smith" sorted by date (my preference). When I cancel the quick filter, the full inbox is still sorted by name, even though it's indicating it's sorting by date (little arrow on Date column). This is a bug.

You need to be able to copy the mailbox address using the context menu from the mailbox list.
It is often necessary to copy the address to indicate on the website, in the online store, etc. To do this, you need to go to the mailbox settings - it takes a long time.

the space between the message list and the reading pane should be reduced in size (if it is wanted at all) to benefit the reading pane dimension which is quite limited

When right click an email and choose Move To... there are many folders I can move, but each time I have to chose the directory > subdirectory. or if possible it is in recent area.. but a Search Panel can be helpful.

For me, it would be handy to be able to switch between showing all the mails in the Thunderbird Inbox and displaying only unopened mails.

Hi, first time posting, so if I´m in the wrong forum please excuse me. I have a feature request, if that is the right wording?
Background: Long time user of Thunderbird privately, but forced to use "MS Outlook" at work.
Question/feature enhancement request: The only thing I miss in Thunderbird, is the feature to search "related messages". In "MS Outlook", you can right click a message and select "search related / search related in this conversation", which is really useful when you get a lot of emails, you can easily filter out what messages you have sent/received on a subject matter. (See attached screenshot in Swedish, translation is: "sök relaterade = search related, meddelanden i den här konversationen = messages in this conversation"
This is a neat feature in "MS Outlook", and the only thing I miss in Thunderbird, would be a great feature if it would be possible to implement.

Having a search bar over Folder Pane to search ONLY for Email Accounts would be a great time saver for those of us who have many email accounts to manage. the user could quickly search for accounts by their account name or account email address to view and send email from that account.

There used to be a feature/option with Thunderbird message filters to play an audio notification when an incoming email matches criteria in a filter. Can we bring that back? I rely on hearing a sound when certain important emails arrive. Now no longer available. What gives?

When I double-click on an Email, it appears in a new tab, it's perfect. But if I double click again on the same Email it opens in a new tab, which is not good, the system should know that the Email is already opened in a tab.

The folder pane can be hidden and unhidden, but it takes multiple mouse clicks. Please incorporate one click contraction and expansion of the folder pane, similar to Outlook. A function keys could also accomplish this. Also, when the folder pane is hidden the "new message" button is hidden. Please move this button to make it always visible next to the "spaces menu" icon in upper left corner.

I have various address book groups, one for current tenants, and one for old. Before Modzilla was changed, I just dragged the contacts into the new group. Now I cannot do that, or find any option to move a contact into a different address group. I have an address book for new tenants and when they leave I put them in "old tenant" address group. While I was able to add the tenant to "Old tenants" when I went to delete them from the new tenant address book I lost the contact in both.
Please try and fix the address book to the way it was set up prior to the changes, it was much better a few years ago.

There should a way to sort four different email accounts in any order I wish, I have not found a way.
Currently, the email accounts are sorted in the order they have been created.

One of the things we battle as an email provider, as well as a user, is people collecting messages in their IMAP folders and running out of space. Prime example is the Sent folder, but other folders too. I wish there was a way to tell Thunderbird to move emails older than a certain age to a designated folder on the Local Folders. The logic used in the Folder Retention settings is perfect, we just need to be able to change the action from Delete, to Move to [Folder] on Local Folders. This way I can have access to the recent Sent messages on my phone, and all my Sent messages in Thunderbird on my main computer.

Please add the option of showing all correspondents in the Card View instead of just the sender. This was possible in the list view. As someone who stores sent and received emails in the same folder this is crucial since otherwise I appear on all my sent emails instead of my recipients.

Would this be possible, please? I see there are workarounds and extensions for this, but it would be good to have native iCloud calendar support in Thunderbird. I suspect this would be a helpful addition to many.

When deleting and event in Calendar a confirmation dialog says "Do you really want to delete this event?"
It would be very helpful if the message included the title of the event being deleted. For example, "Do you really want to delete the event 'Lunch with Sandy'?"

In addition to the start and end date and time, I'd need to have check boxes for "Weekdays", and if checked then "Mon Tue ..." selectable, and also "Weekend", and if checked then "Sat Sun" selectable, for the "Edit Event" panel. This addition would make the week(s) view better marked and more obvious when looking at the calendar.

When TBird signs in, there's a series of messages that flash by on the bottom bar, documenting the progress or lack thereof as it searches for new messages. Unfortunately, those messages are all gone in less than a second on my gaming rig, so if I blink I've missed it. I would like to see them linger longer, perhaps up to a minute, so if I'm distracted I can check back and see what happened.

Hi,
there was this great addon for thunderbird - Gantt View (https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/gantt-view/#) which is compatible up to Thunderbird 64. Unfortunately after that it was not compatible any more.
Would be great to have a similar function added to Calendar or as a separate addon.

Thunderbird should always first try to import the pgp public keys from the signature before trying to use the key manager, wks, or the configured key server. Currently Thunderbird shows a missing key message even if the public key is already part of the signature. Also Thunderbird doesn't offer to import the key from the signature but instead has to import it from a different source. This is bad UX compared to the S/MIME workflow where Thunderbird (admittedly has to) use the public key from the message. Also in regards to privacy requiring this additional wks and key server lookup is not that great. At least if we consider the issue mentioned in the GnuPG documentation about using this as a way to fingerprint and identify users (in a very small amount of cases and in very specific scenarios, probably similar thread vector and impact as CRL and OCSP validation with S/MIME certificates). Example gpg command to generate a test message: `gpg --sign --include-key-block --armor messagebody.txt` (and the feature requested in this ticket is basically identical to the gpg option `--auto-key-import`) From the gpg documentation: ``` --auto-key-import --no-auto-key-import This is an offline mechanism to get a missing key for signature verification and for later encryption to this key. If this option is enabled and a signature includes an embedded key, that key is used to verify the signature and on verification success the key is imported. The default is --no-auto-key-import. On the sender (signing) site the option --include-key-block needs to be used to put the public part of the signing key as “Key Block subpacket” into the signature. ``` ``` --include-key-block --no-include-key-block This option is used to embed the actual signing key into a data signature. The embedded key is stripped down to a single user id and includes only the signing subkey used to create the signature as well as as valid encryption subkeys. All other info is removed from the key to keep it and thus the signature small. This option is the OpenPGP counterpart to the gpgsm option --include-certs and allows the recipient of a signed message to reply encrypted to the sender without using any online directories to lookup the key. The default is --no-include-key-block. See also the option --auto-key-import. ```
