Firefox managed to bring HDR to Macs in 100.0 version. Now it's time for Windows!

It'd be awesome to watch and work on HDR images and videos using Firefox in 2022. Windows is the most popular OS, why not bring HDR here too?
More monitors and devices running on Windows support HDR, so there is an increase in demand of HDR support in Firefox.

The only option for Windows users is either to switch to another browser or to download and use a dedicated app from Microsoft Store.

What an utterly useless response, Jon. I had to make an account just to call you out.

Seriously, when is Firefox going to get proper HDR support? I don't want to use Chrome just to watch YouTube! Get with the times, guys!

@Psythik every new idea post in Mozilla Connect gets a similar response/status update, so everything starts with equal footing...but appreciate the call out and you following up on this. I've shared it with our product team again, so hopefully we can provide an update here shortly.

HDR Support

Please bring HDR support to Mozilla for PC, Mac, and Linux. If all the other major browsers can implement it so can we! I know you can do it! Go Go Go!

Please bring it to Firefox for Windows! It's a pain switching to Edge for HDR videos 😞

I agree. I love firefox, but so annoying when watching youtube. Some videos get me thinking "hmm maybe this has hdr", then I have to open edge to open the same video. Just to see if it is hdr, and if not I close edge again. I really dont want to use edge, please fix this!

Please do add HDR support to all operating systems ASAP! This is rapidly becoming the standard for modern digital media and the lack of HDR support is the main thing that would force me long term to switch to a chromium based alternative as my daily driver despite really wanting to avoid google-controlled web browsers. YouTube is also actively working on improving HDR and once that's implemented the majority of web content going forward will be optimized for HDR screens, which will only exasperate the issue.

2023 Mozilla. You're getting close to a decade behind the times.
